A definite improvement over the original: most notably, the gameplay is more varied and interesting, and it's easier to control. Co-op is a welcome addition.

Two negatives: some of the quests are unclear, and I've experienced several crashes.

It's a relaxing game filled with plenty of humour and madness, best played with a friend.

A short but interesting free boomer FPS. It's well polished and plays smoothly. I like the visuals and the enemy design. It does lack something to give it real punch, but given that it's short this can be overlooked.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. I love the surreal feeling. The maps are well-designed and the gameplay is smooth. Definitely recommended if you like retro FPSes.

For a long time I was very much on the fence about this game, but I eventually decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

It's definitely not AAA-level: unfortunately, a lot of elements feel like they are only 75% of the way to being really good. For instance, some of the characters a bit off in the way they look. Crafting feels like a waste of time - I managed to pick up pretty much everything I needed. The enemy AI isn't particularly challenging. The skill tree feels too basic. The side missions are largely fetch quests.

However, it's clear that a lot of effort was put into the game. The atmosphere is excellent - the world feels apocalyptic and dangerous, particularly early on when you're under-powered and lacking resources. The characters are decent and their stories add to the feel of the world. Best of all, though, is how closely the game follows the canon and aesthetics of the T1 and T2 films. I re-watched both after finishing the game and was pleased to see many of the game's story elements and locations in the films. The DLC, which allows you to play as Terminator, is interesting and worth playing.

Given its flaws, it's not worth full price, but I feel it's worth the 50% sale price that's regularly been offered, especially if you're a fan of T1/T2.

Love the style, which is a blend of retro and modern. At its core, it's an old-school run and gun shooter (a particularly violent one at that), but the ability to upgrade your abilities and weapons adds an extra dimension without being a burden like some RPGs can be. I enjoyed the variety of enemies and environments - the map design is top notch. The story and lore are a bit vague, but I think that adds to the atmosphere. If you've played enough FPSes, it's not a tough game (even at the highest difficulty level), but this makes it great for playing in short bursts.

I've given this a thumbs-up because there's no neutral vote. While not terrible, this game also isn't great. It really could have been so much better with some tweaking and better direction. There are superior open world shooters around.

+ Beautiful world, rich with detail.
+ Animations and sound design are top-notch.
+ The bike mechanics are great.
+ The fighting gameplay is good and it's very satisfying to take out a horde.

- Slow to start: it was only 15 hours into the game that I felt like I was getting anywhere. I was very tempted to give up before this. Early looting, for example, is terrible because there's very little you are allowed to collect.
- Looting is largely unrewarding: you're just looking for parts for crafting. When you have a full supply of items and parts, looting becomes pointless.
- Cutscenes: there are a lot and many of the interactive ones feel pointless - you watch a scene, then get forced to interact for a short time, then get thrown back into another cutscene.
- Characters: many are inconsistent, especially St John, and some of their actions and reactions are bizarre.
- Travel: it's tedious early in the game and you have to do a lot of it. To make things worse, I repeatedly found myself having to return to camp to get a mission after having just left it.
- Long game: it's about 80 hours long if you do everything (except the challenges) and there's a lot of repetition, the most irritating of which is the comments St John makes when performing certain actions.
- Challenges: these feel like busywork more than anything else. Though not mandatory, they're a pain if you like to get all achievements.

An entertaining retro-FPS.

The combat is fast-paced, the graphic style is interesting, and it has a progression system that allows you to upgrade your stats and weapons. It has 60 stages, which makes it quite long, especially if you look for secrets - a must if you want to upgrade because you need to get experience and progression points. The stages are grouped into 5 episodes, each of which has a unique theme and different enemies.

I definitely enjoyed the game, but in my opinion it's not the strongest retro-FPS around. While these games often don't have much of a story, Project Warlock doesn't set one up at all at its beginning, but then has a long string of text after each episode, making the story feel like an after-thought that was included to check a box. The music is great in some stages, but in other stages it sounds out of place. The progression system is nice, but it feels like the magic side of it is weak, especially given that it's easier to run out of mana than ammo.

I think the level design is a bit uninspired, except for the last episode, where the levels are more interesting and challenging. I like the enemy design and variety, but most of the monsters are slow to react and all of them can be lured into doorways by simply running into a room and then out of it, allowing you to bottleneck them and not be overwhelmed.

Overall, I didn't find the game particularly challenging, but that's fine - it's nice to play in small chunks when you have a bit of free time. Worth it if you like retro-FPSes.

Fun if you're looking for a simple game to pass the time.

The game-play isn't very challenging: run, jump, collect items and explore for the most part, with a bit of basic combat now and then. The story is nothing magical, but not entirely boring. The music is quite nice, though it can get repetitive at times. The graphics and environments are good. It's short and easy to 100%.

All in all, it doesn't wow, but I found it enjoyable. It's a bargain when on sale.

Short (~45 min) and free. Worth playing if you want to see some great pixel art.

While the game hasn't aged well - it's graphics aren't great and the gameplay is really clunky - it's got an interesting style (beyond the visuals), a decent story and cool music. It took me a while to warm up to it, but I ended up enjoying it.
