Review Ramble
It's a solid remaster. It's the same Dead Rising as before with some quality of life improvements.

This is a great remaking of the base Dead Rising game in a new engine. To put it simply, the base Dead Rising experience is spot-on, in my opinion. It was a great game in the first place and this does very well at recreating the first game's experience.

Content vs. Price (for a Remaster)
This is the "same" base game as the original Dead Rising. That being said, there is not a lot of "new" content or story, as far as I can tell at this point. With that in mind, it can be difficult to justify the price. The quality of life improvements, new graphics, improve sound, and other bits can help justify the price, but don't expect much "new" stuff.

Quality of Life
Beyond that, there are solid quality of life improvements. Currently, the big ones for me are better controller and keyboard input supports, as well as improved NPC AI. You can seemlessly switch between mouse and keyboard and controllers, which the OG PC release had issues with.

The NPC AI and following mechanics have also been greatly improved from the base game. Long story short, it's a lot easier to get survivors around the mall.

Graphics
I'm indifferent about graphics normally, but I'll say DRDR looks great without any noticable animation issues. Frank's new face looks kinda weird, but I guess I'm used to it.

Bugs
I've noticed a few minor bugs, such as messed up zombie meshes and general texture and lighting issues, but nothing has been game breaking. Even better, my game didn't crash once while playing this and that's great.

Performance
My beefcake PC stutters sometimes so performance might not be the best for everyone. But it has run generally well on my PC beyond the occasional stutters, which especially occur during cut scenes.

Side Personal thoughts
This remaster feels a little bit easier than the original Dead Rising PC port. I'm not sure why, if the game improved, because I'm older and play more games, improved save system, or changed damage scaling, the game feels generally easier than the original. That being said, I'm enjoying my experience a lot more than my playthroughs in the original.

Additionally, there's been so many remakes and AAA releases that have been sub-par this year, so I'm happy to see an actual good remaster of a game that happens to be one of my favorite titles.

TLDR

More simply, this is a remaster and don't expect too much more than the base Dead Rising game and some fixes and graphical improvements.

That being said, I am enjoying my time and will be returning to this title instead of the original PC port.

8 / 10 - Solid Remaster, performs pretty good, doesn't crash, minimal bugs, the base game is still great and wonderfully recreated. But it's expensive for a game that already has an mid-OK PC port, but I haven't regretted it. Others might.

I'm excited to see new players experience this game for the first time that otherwise wouldn't have tried the original.

If you got this far in my ramble, thanks for reading!! I hope I helped! Have a great day!! :D
