Well balanced, with some randomness in it, you do have to know strategy and be willing to sacrifice short term gains for long ones, and be able to figure out how to leverage your leader's strengths. It's fairly genuine to the books, there's some flavor at least, though I do find it weird sometimes to be playing as Paul or Leto Atreides and making common cause with the Guild or something, or neglecting the Fremen. But there are other leaders there with whom you can achieve stunning victories. I do recommend reading strategy guides on Reddit or Steam or BoardGameGeek. You have to know how to build your engine/deck.

It's a sort of skillful mix of the Deck Building dynamics of Dominion, and Worker Placement reminiscent of Lords of Waterdeep or Agricola. I do quite like it. It's deep. And you have to be able to be flexible and balanced, which kind of reminds me of battle discussion between Paul and Gurney Halleck.

It's a romp. And a game can be pretty short, especially with the Steam version helping manage the game rules.

Only played 20 minutes, but on easy settings at least the beginning of the game seems leisurely, though things are getting complicated.

I like the territory grabbing mechanics. It seems like resources are restrictive in the early game, which makes me want to be more powerful, which is probably the right call. Haven't tried to use any kind of time control (if it even exists) to handle multitasking. But I like that harvesters have auto-recall at the cost of productivity, and if you don't want/need to micromanage, explorer units can also be automated (unless you dispatch them for a special project), and I like that you have options when you get a random opportunity/encounter. It seems realistic to me, insofar as any Spec Fic game can be.

Nice so far, no bugs yet!

One of the OG logistics/management games. Very deep, lots of mods to make it even deeper and more involved. I'm a relatively unobsessed player, and I still have 1700 hours in it since 2016. So yeah. If you like logistics/management, this is a game to consider, though it is top down. There are other 3d games, and if you want more casual gaming, maybe consider a Zachtronics game instead.

It's very, very good. Artistic, lonely, apocalyptic, light puzzlements. Very satisfying and interactive. Highly recommend it. At USD $15, I feel like I've gotten my money's worth, and I love supporting work this good.

Good play, silly, makes a good point about the nature of SJ debates and how standard the trolling has gotten.

Hope of conversion/convincing is surely gone, but if you want a good flame war, you know where to go.

As usual, the whiny baby neckbeard MRAs have shown up to downvote this game. But it's fine, and as I said, it makes a point.

This is a very nice themed turn based tactical game with role-playing elements. It's sort of a choose your own adventure epic journey. I waited and bought it while on sale and honestly would have happily paid full price. The aesthetics are pleasing, the choice-making is just the right sort of intensity and frequencey (as far as I'm concerned) and it was a pleasure to play. I think it might have some good replay value too. All in all quite enjoyable.
