Put simply, most plot lines fall utterly short when compared to Enderal's main quest line. Twisting and turning between exploring the mystical lore of Vyn, adrenaline-filled fights against an unknown enemy, and facing some good old existential dread in between.

Technically, SureAI's use of the engine puts the special effects and cutscenes in Skyrim to shame, impressing me on multiple occasions. On the other hand, Enderal suffers from a sort of awkwardness that seems to be inherent to said game engine. Poor pathfinding leads to quest stopping, and poor enemy AI can trivialize the game, just like in Skyrim.

All in all, it's a crime that this game is free, but you can always support the developers at sureai.net.

Contrary to popular belief, this game is not hard. It simply has a steep learning curve and it takes a while to get used to the recipe. When you get a hang of things, it's a great game with respect to combat. There are so many ways to fight in this game, and you have the option of finding your personal style of combat (within limits, naturally). The role-playing capabilities, on the other hand, are mediocre as what you choose to do does not really impact the world within the game to a large extent. Without spoiling too much, the ending leaves much for you to interprete.

The community is largely helpful and ready to assist you if you ever need help with something. Whether you need help fighting something within the game or need tips on how to progress in some questline, you're bound to find answers on the forums. You'll rarely be told to "git gud" unless you 'deserve it' (I'll leave that up to interpretation). Don't be afraid to reach out, and praise the sun!

A great game to kill some time with, seen as it's filled with minor quest who doesn't give you any progress. Combat is somewhat repetitive and gets boring over time, and the enemies tend to get weaker and weaker as you level up. Everything culminates in boring fights with weak foes.
On the other hand, this game includes a huge world open for exploration, several interesting storylines and the freedom to play as you please, all stacked inside an immense lore-rich universe. Polite, helpful community online, in addition to a handful of mods to further personalize your game style.

If you're into free roaming and that stuff, go ahead, this game is for you. If not, I would spend my money on something else
