the real game is the claw machine at the back of the lobby anyway, will improve my review when they add crane machines with the parallel bar setup

Titanfall 2's single-player manages to pull you in and keep you firmly immersed. It captures the old school Halo vibe with Jack and BT's relationship loosely mirroring John and Cortana, as well as using how the NPC's and the world reacts to you to demonstrate how special being a pilot/spartan is.

When Jack Cooper gets more confident and experienced, you feel like you're getting better with him. When he enjoys his moments of heroism or tension, you're right there with him. When he's fighting in perfect tandem with BT, you feel that you are fighting in perfect tandem with BT. And finally, when BT says "Trust me":

You do.

This game is nothing short of a modern masterpiece.

Also, Matt Mercer is always a delight.
