the metal slug/wild guns mixup I didn't know I needed!

currently gonna have to stop playing until the crashes are fixed. The game is really fun. parts of it feel annoyingly preachy and knock you right out of the experience. but the good will outweigh the bad I think once the game is in decent technical state.

2/10/2025 - still crashing after patch 1. I'll retest every patch and once it works I'll change this review to positive the amount of days I had to wait for a stable game later.

2/14/2025 - patch 2 seems to have fixed my issues (fingers crossed) if I don't crash in the next 2 weeks I'll change my review to positive. side note to others: special K can disable GPU decompression for direct storage and it makes the game run noticeably better.

sadly EA couldn't resist the temptation to add in game advertisements. I was excited about split fiction from TGA, but now I won't buy it cause apparently EA views my purchases as advertising real estate.

stellar metroid vania with sekiro inspired combat translated shockingly well to 2d. cool world and lore to get wrapped up in.

this is a great game. I am not recommending due to 11 bit adding in game advertisements into their titles.

I was not hyped at all for this game. But then positive reviews and no Denovu or forced third party account on a release of this calibur and IP fame. Had to vote with my wallet. And I'm happy I did. This is a great performing and looking AAA release on day 1 of PC with amazing game direction, story telling, voice acting, and natural feeling exploration and discovery. Well worth it if you enjoy Machine Games stuff, Indy, or adventure games.

this game is amazing. probably the coolest video game adaptation of combat that I've seen. The only thing I don't love is the aging mechanic as a "continue" type system. I would have preferred aging to happen between runs making it a more traditional roguelite. but the combat is too good to care.

it takes a little while to get started and I was a bit worried I wasn't gonna like it at the onset. But once you start interacting with the systems and the difficulty starts to go up... this game perfectly captures the amazing gunplay of Destiny and wraps it up in a difficult roguelike package with amazing art direction and world building. very cool. excited for it to keep getting more content.

great game that apparently will be perpetually plagued by denovu despite a crack existing for years. It's like the devs hate paying consumers at this point.

very interesting story. basic but fun gunplay. Elizabeth is an amazingly realized AI companion
