I think 300+ hours makes it pretty obvious that this game is amazing. Tons of replayability, mind-blowing story and character depth, and the amazing ability to play out of the box or customize greatly. You can be good or evil, do every sidequest or skip them all... the game is in your hands to do what you will. And it's freakin D&D... I'm mean, c'mon. :D

Incredibly unique, creative, and cerebral game. A wonderful combo of adventure game + RPG. Takes some getting used to the style, and took a death or two for me to "get" how the mechanics ideally work. Once that happened, it was nothing but disco.

Replayability is limited due to the set story, but how to achieve it has a few options when it comes to roleplaying. WARNING: Be prepared to listen to or read through a ton of text, with wonderful voice acting. (That's literally how you gain XP.) This game is extremely story and character-driven. If that type of RPG is not appealing to you, I would advise passing on this one. If that does sound appealing, prepare for an incredible adventure with a ton of emotional beats.

Not terribly worth coming back if you played the original. Mildly entertaining, but would rather be playing something else.

Great replayability with multiple main characters, storylines, and abilities to improve over multiple sessions. The mechanics of the card games change with each character and are a lot of fun.

I've never been much of a fan of beat 'em up games like Devil May Cry, but this is nothing like those. This is closer to an Action RPG with its skill trees, rich story, open world, and tons of top-quality side quests. The combat is insanely fun and friendly/easy to learn for newcomers to this style. The humor is amazing and the writing even often has a level of nuance for those who can spot the hilarity under the surface. The world feels lived-in and the random encounters are welcome because they're always fun. Definitely recommended!

Early Access Review
The best of CSD1 and CSD2 combined, while still so unique as to make the old games feel like gems you want to revisit again in the future. I'm only on level 3 but the game is challenging and fun, and god do I get inspired to cook after playing it.
