Never was a fan anyway but free-to-play and a battle royale mode? Sounds like an april fools joke.

Having spent just about 3 years on this games non-steam version I can safely say this is one of my all time favorite games I have ever played. Seeing as you have absolute full control over every movement for your character of course that means there will take ALOT of time to master the movement system.

While this game obviously isn't an RPG there's still lots paths to walk. The game is divided in 2 different main communities with several branches to follow. The 2 main groups are the competetive players and the replaymakers.

The competetive players are the ones to probably earn a bunch of ingame profit as they are the ones to spend the most time on the multiplayer section of the game which is where you earn ingame currency. This path goes up into a huge variety of different competetive mods. Some which you will very likely prefer more than the other.

Then there's the replaymaking community. These are the players that focus on making singleplayer or collaborative/online multiplayer replays that are aimed at looking as good as possible. This goes up to several game modes such as tricking which is where you make a replay aimed at acrobatics such as flips, twists and spins without an opponent involved. Then there is Madman replays which are aimed at completely destroying your opponent as stylishly as possible in a singleplayer match. Note that the opponent named Uke does not move and therefore there is pretty much an unlimited amount of opportunities of what to do to him. Some people chose to manipulate Uke in the air and spin him around to then finish up with a simple decapitation. Others chose to go a more extreme path any try to fully destroy Uke, not caring about the style as much as others may. These are only a few branches of the tree that is replaymaking.

Now let me tell you... This game would be NOTHING without the community it has. At least 70% of the enjoyment you get from this game is through the toribash forums (forum.toribash.com). This is where you interact with the community properly and parttake in everything from events, sharing your replays with others for criticism to purchasing items for your ingame money to make your character look amazing. Be sure to check the forums out if you are planning to play this game on a regular basis.

Here are a few pros and cons

Pros:

- Amazingly rewarding to master

- Active and friendly community

- Not pay 2 win in any way.

- Fully skill based, no hackers.

Cons:

- Very hard to master

- Will eat up alot of time in your life

- Minor micro-transactions for money used for customization. (You can still earn this ingame)

To sum up:
This game is super hard to master. It's gonna be months if not years until you can fully master the control you are given over your character. However, if you keep at it you will eventually get addicted to the game. You will feel proud over your accomplishments and you will improve with time in a way that motivates you to keep going. There's nothing more rewarding than finally landing your first backflip or successfully supplexing someone across the entire arena. If you've got time on your hands, this game is definetly for you.

This is an absolutely fantastic game for bored people like me. As many before me has said, this is basicly a simple 2D version of Kerbal Space Program. But it's a damn good one! The first day after buying this game you will be going through tutorials, training on getting the perfect orbit around earth. The next day you will be trying to land on the moon, which I have yet to accomplish. Though it is a simple version of KSP, It doesn't mean the game isn't advanced. The game can be extremely frustrating at times, but not the kind of frustrating that makes you want to rage quit. So far I have had an extremely fun time playing and the feeling when you accomplish something in this game is super rewarding, which easily makes the game addicting. As for myself I have an old work laptop from 2006 and this game runs on a solid 60 fps.
If you get the simplemodding software (google it) You can easily mod the game. I gave the smallest batteries and fuel tanks contain unlimited fuel for one. And it took me about 5 minutes.

Now, this is a great little demo but it takes much less than 1 hour to complete it. It's basicly a tutorial and showcase for a lot of money. As for myself im not really into that stuff and therefor dont recomend it. It's just not enough gameplay for that amount of money even if its on sale. I'm usually not that guy who complains on games all the time but i just thought that this wasn't enough for me. Alltough if you do like the concept of this then i can say you can go wild. It's your money so you can do whatever you want with it.
