Simply the best starship troopers game ever.... captures the feel of the 1997 movie better than any of the official games!

other than that its a lot of fun, and the satire is awesome!

Fantastic game i have had so many frustratingly fun hours playing this getting my colonists through some tight jams with raiders and mechanoids only to have them all get wiped out by plague or eatten by a swarm of man hunting squirils!

endless hours of fun provided by the often challenging story tellers!

Welcome back to the Mechwarrior Universe, where you can bask in the glory of many different Mechs both Inner Sphere and Clan as they spew death upon one another in the beautifully crafted maps of MWO.

The combat is highly tactical, the skill of a mechwarrior is not in their twich reacations but their choice of target and how they engage it, with the build they have entered the arena with. The game encorages players to work together & improve their teamwork and to be tactical with their shots managing their mechs heat levels not only when deployed in combat but when creating the loadouts for their purchased mechs. That large pulse laster puts out a lot of focused damage at good range, great for removing opponents limbs and components, but it also puts out a lot of heat and it is heavy!

I have been playing MWO for about 2 years and i can honestly say that i have seen a continuous improvement in the game over that period (it has had some downs as well). There are not a lot of games i am still playing after such a long period which i consider testament to its quality.
MWO caters well for casual play if you just want to stomp around in a big robot spraying laser death for an half an hour or so as well as more involved clan matches and alliances in clan warefare.
The regular challenge weekends have been fun and provided insentives to get players using new features when they have been added, as well as giving players "hats" to adorn their mech cockpits with.

edit:
Just read a review which slammed the mwo community... clearly the reviewer had never attempted to join it. The PGI forums are very active and a lot of experienced players are willing to advise new ones, the team speak servers are also very active!
The reviewer also mentioned that there is no guidance on how to build a loadout for a mech and that its easy to blow your hard earned cbills on something that, well isnt the most effective build. I will go back to the community bit here because the builder tool http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab lets you design your mech build and test its heat performance before you spend a stone. If you dont know enough to work out a good build on your own there are countless shared builds to choose from linked from the forums.

being one of the lucky few so it seems who ha managed to play this without a single crash or bug I feel that i should share that this is a fun game for a casual player. It lacks the depth of 4X but thats not what its aiming to acomplish.
for the price point you cant go wrong with this (unless your suffering from bugmageddon).
