Final thoughts on Momodora MF
Really Solid 8/10
I very very much wanted to give this a 10/10 after beating it on the intended difficulty, the game is unfortunately not perfect. I very much enjoyed the experience I got out of it. it just wasnt pants shiddingly good.

And I think the biggest problem with why I feel that way very much stems from its difficulty, its difficulty is split into an easy mode and a normal mode. leaving no room for a harder mode to engage with on your first playthrough.

The game has this issue, where you never really hit a wall, and the stat buffs perpetuate and make this issue worse.

I was showing my friends the game, and I was around 80% done (found every secret up till that point and was as powerful as one could get at that time) I showed them the secret spider boss and to my and their suprise. i melted it in 12 seconds without takeing a single hit.

Alot of the bosses later in the game started to feel this way, I'd have more trouble navigating through the game because of common enemies then I would fighting the bosses. This issue doesn't just arise because because I'm more powerful then the bosses, the bosses are all also a little linear, the only exceptions being the moon gods. Them two are the only bosses in the game that felt really fun and absurdly challenging.

Why is the game easy? Once you take a look at what the game gives you. its not hard to tell why.

Sigils are busted, Dont get me wrong. they are a cool mechanic for sure. but they require some extra checks and balances to make sure the game is still challenging. Which is a wierd thing to say because there are specific sigils that litterally attempt to make the game less challenging. Sure I get it, gaming needs to be accessible, but it also needs to have a hardcore option for players who want to get sat on by a giant mommy snake.

I see a few complaints about how the movement is floaty in the game. Yeah it is, but its tight, responsive and the combat perfect parry mechanic is fun af.

Rdein is the god of pixel graphics. you will never find a game this good looking, for this price. each area immerses you and makes you feel something, its a form of storytelling prominent in some of earliest games, and this one does it by far the best. (through out the whole game I litterally had thoughts in the back of my head that the starting village "Koho" would eventually burn and everyone would die at somepoint, because it just seemed TOO Peaceful and it was like a red herring in the back of my head for over 90% of my play time.) and I'm not gonna lie to you. Rdein would totally ♥♥♥♥ with people like that, I know how he writes and so do you.

This game is a very complete new, and unique experience. It might not be a super challenging one, but if your looking for an entertaining metrodvania epic with some pretty graphics and a fun and highly exploitable combat system. this game stands up.

I'm hoping in the future that a "hard mode" will be added for newer players, as I felt "Normal" was just not cutting it for me, and made the game in its entirety a little soft.

But hell, I've been waiting 3 years for this game. maybe longer. it was worth the wait, the time and the money.

I hope in the future, Rdein proceeds to innovate and create, maybe even remaster the first 3 momo games into one experience. I feel like that would be really cool.
