I find it hard to believe the other reviews are giving this a negative "thumbs down" because of the randomness of the game... its solitaire at its core! If you play at home with a deck of cards and lose 4 times in a row, shuffling doesn't make it easier every time. There is no one way to win. There is no combination to master. There's only the ability to learn good technique and hopefully RNG doesn't get the best of you.

Pros:
1. Well balanced for each class! Devs did a great job of building all the classes and playstyles. Some items and spells work great with some classes and not with others.
2. Great implementation of the randomness of reshuffling and playing a new game of solitaire as if at home.
3. Great card villains and bosses! The randomness of how they appear in each area is great as well; its never the same time each run.
4. Sounds are good. Music has a great battle tone to it. Kinda addictive actually; really puts you in the mood to keep playing and battling.
5. Game will save anytime during a run to be picked back up later (only on the same machine though... see cons)

Cons:
1. Needs better Steam cloud save implementation. I played this game years ago and achieved every Steam Challenge available (at the time). More have been added and since I've gone back to play again on a new laptop, my entire progress is gone. Would have been more satisfactory to pick up where I left off on a new machine. Still having fun though my progress is gone, but a complete wipe of where I was is disheartening.
2. Game play can be slow even with the sped-up animations. Playing a full run could easily take an hour or more.

I recommend this game to anyone that loves a great RNG challenge where its never the same and there's no "Easy Mode" or "Masterable combo" that breaks the game. Each deck class has its own challenges and rewards. The Expert level takes the challenge even further. Play, never master, and always be challenged by a true random draw game!

Fun survival game that's still a work in progress. As long as you remember its early access and give quality feedback to issues you find, this game could be a really good one. Even though its still in development, I've really enjoyed it! Looking forward to the changes as it progresses.

Perfect single-player RPG. Best game I've played in a long time in this genre. The graphics are fantastic, the environments are perfect, and the "get lost in side quests" are endless. I'm at 24 hours in and still under a quarter complete. I'll be playing and enjoying this for awhile. Highly recommended.

This takes the best of Slay the Spire's deckbuilding and mapping ideas and puts it with a tactical fighter. The "7 second rounds" are a perfect timer. The artifacts are useful and the best ones can hurt you as they help. This is definitely an "early access" done right. I have enjoyed it so much I bought it as gifts for my friends that got me hooked on Slay the Spire! A lot of potential here and I'm looking forward to seeing where the updates take it. Since its unfinished I'll hold my best rating until final release, but currently I'd give it a 8/10. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the next great deckbuilder.

Easy to learn, fun to play, tough to master. I love games like this that focus more on the gameplay and less on the graphics. All the characters are fun to play, though I dislike the Hobo in a group; solo that's a different story. The Hobo actually makes the game easier with a solo character. In a group setting, however, its too easy to balance the skills you need with the other characters making the Hobo the worst choice. I am looking forward to the expansion and future expansions for this game. Easily worth the money!

Fantastic Game! I've really enjoyed the story. Such a great job of writing and conversing between Zag and all the NPCs. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a hack & slash that goes above and beyond. I'm excited to see what new updates bring! 10/10 for me!!!!
