If Sony's greed didn't mess up your region and the game is purchasable, it is worth playing.

- No active abilities on mech and no consumables (hardly, but can be justified by PvE only).
- HUD and cockpit somehow several times worse than in original HAWKEN.
- Feedback from hitting stuff and being hit is non existent.
- Enemy types are sparse and boring to deal with.
- You will not try any new mech/gear unless you fall asleep from farming or buy it with real money.
- Movement is ok, they didn't mess up at least this one.

Developers, PvE only with no co-op? Remove store with microtransactions then. No one cares that main game loop and grinding was designed to make players buy non-cosmetic stuff with real money. Undesign it back or there will be no players at all.

Old review (14 Feb 2023) (Not Recommended):
Two month after release game doesn't have crafting that was announced to be on release.

And even with functioning crafting as it exists, claimed variety of builds is not achievable in reasonable time because the system is built on gambling with complete reset to the start on each possible step if your luck failed at least once.

Buy weapon -> Bad stats? Weapon goes in trash can, start over, otherwise -> Upgrade for perks -> Both perks wrong? Trash can, start over, otherwise -> Upgrade for blessings -> Both blessings wrong? Trash can, otherwise -> Reroll 1 wrong perk and 1 wrong blessing until they are good -> You can now try your "experiment" in combat -> It doesn't work as you wanted or does't reach breakpoint by 1% of dmg? Sorry, no rerolls for locked stats. Start. All. Over. Again.

Repeat this for every weapon you want to build. Oh, and don't forget to farm coins and crafting materials for each try.

Updated review (21 Oct 2023) (Recommended):
Almost a year have passed and Fatshark appears to almost made the game as it should have been on release.

Crafting still sucks but chances to brick your weapons are half less than it was before. Cost of crafting is less and material drops are more generous.

Talent trees are adding a lot of depth in builds making and reducing the amount of "useless" weapons.

Mission Modifiers and difficulty are much better now. Trapper nets only sometimes fly through walls. Mutants and dogs are not horribly bugged, just a little.

Game can be enjoyed now!

Best top down pvp arena game out there. Shame developers abandoned it.
