A breath of fresh air into a genre that hasn't had much innovation since Banished. I would like to see a number of improvements however such as:
- firefighters to stop barbarians from burning your entire base down
- resources being saved in the world versus being saved only in stockpiles, so when you delete a stockpile the resources don't just magically vanish
- an autosave system
- a more interactive defense system instead of just a tower defense

Overall however it is a great concept and it has some solid foundations for a game!

Politics aside, cutting content to be resold as DLC is scummy to say the least. If I could refund this game I would.

Lots of missing features imo, the campaign doesn't exist and the sandbox mode is laughable. Give it some time and it'll be a really solid game but as is, not worth it.

Edit: I reviewed this game when it first came out at full price, at this discount the game is definitely worth it ($15)

Terrible optimization, wait until the game gets fixed before you try to play. Really disappointed as I was looking forward to a "ocean valheim" game.

This is really a mixed bag for me. This game is very fun but at the same time clans are going to ruin it. I've had good encounters with friendly people and then toxic people who KOS. There needs to be a PVE and PVP zone, that way if you want to get beaten up by clans you can. The base gameplay is very fun, the combat is engaging, the atmosphere is great, music design is solid, the graphics are good. They just need to change this part of the game.
As it stands it's a recommend because it's early in the development process and I think they have a real gem on their hands.

Gameplay has been fun, the story is interesting, the acting is top notch, and it's optimized great.

Using an SSD

Easily runs at epic settings around 100+ fps, haven't had any issues with crashes or launching so far. If you enjoy Star Wars and the whole dark souls gameplay you'll like this. It's obviously not as challenging, but on max difficulty you can die if you aren't careful. Overall I'd say this game is a 8.5/10
