I went into this game as a 3D platformer, saw the trailer and it looked the part. but it starts to feel repetitive in its set pieces, combat and locations but i kept playing nearly till the end. the fact that i didnt finished it its what made me want to write this.

the game presents its mechanics to yourself in parts, with traversal and jumping, interactions and then combat. Combat is simple even as you unlock extra weapons and its more related to clearing obstacles, it reminded me of MediEvil (Which I think was the main inspiration) and the first Jak and Daxter game.

I liked the first few hours a lot. but then it got repetitive but i liked jumping and seeing the new places, but due to a repeating color palette they all feel very similar and progression is mostly felt thru unlocking weapons, but the weapons kept the combat almost unchanged (at least thats how it felt for me)

the game looks incredible, no doubt about that. no complains or anything there.

I imported my save from the first DS. It felt like the game was optimized because it ran way better on my Steam Deck. I mean, what can i say, its a Kojima Game. If you havent vibed with Kojimas past work you might still not vibe with this one. People say walking simulator, but, when you end up "stranded" in a landscape, what emerges from that problem solving aspect is an incredibly satisfiyng moment and theres nothing like the sight of a base appearing after a harrowing travel, made my body feel relief as i release tension that you didnt know you had accumulated for a few hours because you followed a route that led to a cliff and now you find yourself lost.

a weird hideo kojima game that reconceptualizes death in video games. its kidna amazing

Play it with friends, kill thing, lvl up and share loot. Great time with people you know
