It's really pretty sad how much video game devs take advantage of their loyal fanbase. In a sea of sh*t, Fromsoft seemed like our knight in shining armor, producing 10/10 games for us that didn't hold our hands and beg for extra money. When a company like fromsoft tells us that they are going to remaster one of the greatest games of this decade, how could you not be excited? A benevolent game company recreating a game that had many cut corners to meet a rushed deadline, who wouldn't expect them to add some of the cut content that they had originally planned, or actually finish the latter half of this game? Of course, in the video game world, that's too much to ask. Instead of rewarding fans for hours upon hours of gameplay, faithfully waiting the new arrivals of games, free advertisement of the game, and much more, Fromsoft decided to make a complete mockery out of themselves by releasing an old game with what is essentially a user created mod bugfixer. This is not right.

Dark Souls 2 is considered the weakest souls title but I personally believe it's unjustified. Everything that was wrong with DaS2, SOTFS corrects. This is probably my favorite all time game.

I'll come out first and say that my favorite Fallout game is New Vegas; however, I've logged over 550 hours into Fallout 3 and over 120 into this game and it is growing.

Pros:
>This game has a pretty good atmosphere of what you'd expect out of a post-war Boston. Bethesda has actually made some of the little towns and civilizations a tad more realistic compared to Fallout 3. It was a little weird to imagine that 30 settlers lived and thrived off of a couple brahmin and salisbury steak like they would in 3, so Beth realized that 200 years after a war, farming and agriculture worked out just fine.

>The gunplay is a HUGE improvement to every other game in the series. The crafting system allows for unique weapons and modding can also help with that

>graphics are an improvement

>Survival mode is a fantastic system that should be tweakable in-game

>Factions present themselves in very cool ways. The railroad is interesting to find, the BoS is surveying, and the Institute is the creepy faction you'd expect them to be. It doesn't pan out this way.

>Good Neighbor is a great town and the people that inhabit it are great

>Character creation

>Early game keeps you interested on and on your toes

>Mods add hundreds of hours

Cons:

>Four choices with not many underlying decisions make for a repititive feeling without much personal impact.

>They pretty much just completely dropped RPG mechanics. You don't select a voice, you have a voice. No matter who or what you decide to role play as, you will ALWAYS be someone looking for their kid with a set background.

>The game doesn't end after the main questline like NV does but it pretty much ends all enjoyment. You'll get maybe another 10 hours after the questline until you get sick of Garvey.

>It's still gamebryo I don't care what they say

>Not enough minor factions that actually impact the outcome of Boston

>THE DIALOGUE IS HORRIBLE. "Good. Agree." "Sarcastically Agree." "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥." "More information." That is the entire game.

>No skill system

If you play this game for plot, you'll be bored after 45 hours, If you play the game for immersion, you'll get 100 out of it. If you play the game for the modding, you'll get 100s.

I give this game a 8.2/10

Definitely better than majority of games but as a returning fallout fan, SO MANY THINGS WERE MISSED.

Obsidian knows what it's doing. New Vegas is still better than 4, just a shame that bethesda had to rush the production. 10/10 game
