I'd let them take any/all children from my basement for them to remake the other games.

Campaign's easy for about 10-15 levels (on normal difficulty), and 3 stars on first 7-10 is equally easy (with the exception of "Mosquito")

However, some missions seem impossible on 3-star normal, like "Mad Attack", one of the missions that required you having a tech lab, missile silo and 2-3 power plants powering them on mission start if you wanted to get those 3 stars. That means that you need to get the missile silo and its power plant by completing the mission "Cleansing fire" on 3-star normal. On 3 stars, you need to, in 10 minutes, both build 5 missile silos (that cost $1.5k each) and destroy 3 enemy missile silos. First two are relatively easy, considering they are places in the middle of the map, but the third one is in one of three highly fortified bases, which means that, in order to pull it off, you need a big army for that base that you can't build because of your requirement to spend $7.5k on building missile silos. And on top of that, you need to build a crap ton of turrets (well, maybe 3-4) because the rear bases always send units to your base, which makes "Cleansing fire" one of the, if not the hardest missions in Renegades Campaign.

That being said, the campaign has an ok story, a bit imbalanced, but possible missions, and an ok prize being the medal next to your nickname on leaderboards at the start and the finish of multiplayer games

On the topic of multiplayer, things start to get messy...you see, there are 6 factions in the whole 8-bit franchise (other two games being 8-bit invaders and 8-bit hordes), and i feel like other factions have a significant advantage over Guardians and even more so over Renegades. If you don't want to pay for other two games just so you can gain access to other 4 factions, I would suggest just playing multiplayer with your friends and agreeing not to use other 4 factions if they have access to those.

Also, if you need practice for multiplayer, you can play skirmish against bots that range from beginner, that is so dumb he can practically lose against a rock, to insane that does everything perfectly. Insane can be hard to grasp at first, but with some practice you can beat two with just 1 easy bot or less.

In conclusion, game's good, singleplayer is good, multiplayer is a ♥♥♥♥♥ if you don't have friends, skirmish is ok, multiverse is something I will probably never learn to play, and co-op campaign is a nice challenge. If you have friends, that is.
