Intense action, faithful to it's roots, addictive gameplay, beautiful animations and visuals. I've had quite a lot of replay out of this game, and it runs well in linux. This is one of those games you have to play as it's a genre defining game from the lineage of one of the genre's key creators.

I grew up on dragonball and dragonball z. The game does a good job of being faithful to the material and creating fun gameplay and mechanics. If you don't like dragonball?

I like Hi-Rez, I'll start there. I don't normally approach their stuff with a negative bias. I don't like battle royales, so there's that. This game is interesting in it takes something I don't care for and makes it enjoyable, where I don't have to be a try hard, but I get quite a bit of satisfaction out of a good fight. I don't feel it has a high learning curve, but that also means the skill gap feels a bit low. It's a good game to kick around for a few hours at a time and worth a download.

For the record, I do like apex legends, it's a BR I enjoy, and this one is on that list as well but for different reasons entirely.

So you've got a home renovation project coming up, but you have to get those pesky walls out of the way. Spend an hour fighting off hordes in this game and problem solved. 10/10 Would trash my office space again.

So this game is a work of art in regards to story telling. It touches on a subject that is rarely treated with any seriousness, and they've taken the time to do it right.

So let's start off with the negatives.
I got less than 10 hours out of this game, with all achievements, and I don't know that I'll play it again. For a $30 price tag that may immediately turn you off to this title. I'd urge you to reconsider. Similarly, the game had a slow start, and some of the early puzzles (as they're familiarizing you with the game) are a bit weak.

So now let's discuss the positives.
This game is a work of art. Visually, and auditory, this game is in a class all it's own. The story snowballs, as I said in the negative section above, it's a slow start. However when by the time you've cleared the first two to three sections of the game, you are fully engaged and interested in Senua and how she got here. The constant questions of why, where, is this real continue to asail you through out the entire game. Combat is fun, albeit, some of the auto targeting can be frustrating at times. Honestly, there are too many factors here to really point at something and say "that's it, that's what makes it great". I couldn't stop playing once I got going, it moved seamlessly telling a very engaging tale, and offering new bits of information and lore that I ate up.

I've been playing FPS since wolf3d. I was in at the ground level on things like dwango, and deep in when QuakeWorld with it's amazing mod scene came in. Over time my excitement for shooters has started to die off with a lot of the same old being stamped out over and over again. Low skill floor, slower play style, and turning the game into a grind for the next reward rather than an experience that wraps you up and wants you to do more. Lawbreakers brings out the friggin kid in me again and has me dying for my next match. This takes me back to the same exhiliration I used to get playing games like rocket arena(1/2/3) or the Unreal Tournament series.

That being said this game is absurdly addictive. Matches are intense, and the skill floor is extremely high, which means a lot of gratifying moments during play. Every match is something different. There are some things that might be worth retooling in terms of balance, but overall my experience in playing has shown me that it really is just a difference in player skill that offers the most imbalance. This game can draw comparisons to a lot of things, but it's an entirely unique experience. I really can't emphasize that enough. I hate I didn't hear about this game sooner (wtf marketing) and when I did, like most of you I read reviews and watched videos and tried to put this game in it's right place. Every notion I had about the game, how it would play, etc were wrong. I'm glad that I ultimately I pulled the trigger and I haven't regretted it at all.

So, what are the down sides? Off prime time, match making can take a while. Honestly, this is probably the biggest disappointment to me. I can get plenty of matches in, it’s not like I’m waiting ages for a match (US-East player pool); but there are times when it can take a while. The thing that makes this so painful, is less that it takes time, but that a game with such tight mechanics and fast paced chaos is being missed by a larger audience. At this point it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as people see that it has low pop, they don’t take the plunge and buy it.

What do I have to say about that? Look, if you're reading this review, take the chance, spend the $30 and get in here with us and play. I can assure you, if you like fast paced, skill based shooters, this is the game you need to buy. The more players we have, the more games we have. Stop sitting on the fence.

This game, much like doom, was a defining title for me in PC gaming. I still own it and have played the original through dos box, but when I saw it available with an updated engine and supported multiplayer I couldn't stop myself from buying it. This game is not only a solid piece of nostalgia, but also serves as an example of excellent game design and execution from what I consider a golden age of PC gaming. I highly recommend buying this game, and experiencing it. It's aged well, and serves as an excellent mile marker for revolutionary gaming and the growth of the platform as a whole.
