Greatest hacking sim on steam

A very promising early access game. You control a swat team from a top down perspective, and command them. It plays like an rts but with a pause mechanic, so you can pause the game whenever you want, and take a look at your situation and issue commands. The game really feels complete already, it feels polished and is full of content. If you run out of vanilla content, it has steam workshop as well. Definitely worth the small asking price of $15. If you like forming a complex plan, and then watching it all play out, this is the game for you.

An interesting game...
Rather than focusing on a single party of adventurers, you are instead a king who manages several parties at once. Managing adventures is actually pretty fun, it really feels like you are running your own buisness. Unfortunately, the combat is pretty dull, so after a few dungeon crawls it starts to feel very repetitive. However, I do understand that it is an early access game, so hopefully we get an overhauled combat system before a final release. Overall, not a bad game. If you enjoy turn based combat and managing buisnesses, then I would recommend the game. Even if you don't plan on playing anytime soon, I'm sure the game will be very different after a few updates.

HP system, armies locked to generals, stats triumph over tactics, many removed features in the name of "streamlining". despite all the bug fixes, there is still a lot of the fundamentals that got wrong here.

Steam Marines is a very well done turn based action game, and it reminds me of the classic xcom games. The game is very unforgiving, and 50% of the time your situation is hopeless, so a lot of rounds just come down to luck. My only real complaint is that there are only 4 classes to choose when you make your squad, but I'm guessing more classes will be added in future updates.
