I was looking to mess around with a first character and get a feel for the controls before picking a class to play for the whole game but then realized there wasn't an accessible way to make a new game, sure I could pick apart the files in my steam directory and potentially activate the Denuvo or play up to a point to change class but its not worth my time when my frame rate was dipping by 20-40 fps in areas already. All in all disappointing for 70+$ without considering the unnecessary dlc, I would assume the purpose of the regulated save files is to stop people from cheating gear since they want to have that be something paid for.

I'm not sure I understand why this game is so highly rated at the moment. I played the single player and the loop of traveling to buy troops to toss at random enemies felt lacking.
Why care about waging war with some kingdom? The battle will be resolved by how well my troops can path in the geometry of the map. The quests in the towns were very odd and out of place, boiling down to npcs insta-killing some random guy I need to help, fetching some trash, or on occasion a random brawl. The towns themselves are somewhat lively with npcs meandering and people to talk to, and I do enjoy the look of them when inside but the actions themselves didn't feel worth entering the town. Caravans and shops felt useless compared to just killing some bandits or fighting in the arena. The npcs didn't really have much to say and the shops were generally filled with the same things as all others. The keep, with it's lords or ladies, was the only real draw of a town or city and the diplomatic options with them was rather sparse. Reltions with npcs became mostly trying to quickly obtain some more troops but even that became a waste eventually as it was easier to collect a bunch of peasants in an army of 300 to level them up after a short few battles. The marriage system with an heir was interesting and I find that fleshed out. Other than that, the only other thing I really found interesting was collecting all the weapon parts for the smithy.
Is the answer to download mods? If so, that is a sorry excuse and should be scrutinized more. As of now, the game is not 50$ worth. With 20 hours I have managed to complete the quests, take over half the map, and obtain the best gear I can based on the wiki.
The multiplayer was cool for the one game I played to completion, but now no one is even available (searching for 30+ min) or the game crashes. If I need to wait for longer than 30+ min for the queue, I might as well go back to league of legends and see which one wins the race for me getting into the game. The combat in multiplayer was fun and interesting though so I guess that is going for it.
TLDR: Somehow this had less content, than a free-to-play cash grab russian copy of the game with pay to win elements called Conqueror's Blade where I no doubt got a virus on my computer. Feel free to tell me how to get more enjoyment out of the game at this point so I can feel justified in my spending.

Review after playing 350 hours as a criminal in gold in the steam client, and 400 hours as enforcer in green/bronze/silver from a standalone account before I learned about steam.

In short, the game is a lot of fun to play with some friends as a cops and robbers escapade, or for some silly racing. If you have a few people and want a couple of hours to mess around, it's great. You will probably get bored of grinding for one permanent weapon as they are hard to get. One of the most fun things you can work towards is car surfer. Another fun thing to play with is the garbage trucks.

What about longevity? This is where you will start to see some issues. The game works off a very heavy grinding principle to gain weapons or modifiers for guns/vehicles/etc. Many people will claim that it is pay to win to get these guns, but to be fair, you can "try a gun for free" for a few hours and see if they actually work that well. Let's say you find a gun you want to unlock, this part could take weeks to grind. You have to level up that person and faction in a tedious grind, that if you are playing in gold, can be the worst and longest experience ever. Gold has a generally small player base, and usually takes a long time to find matches. This leads most people to "derank" to play in silver/bronze. If you aren't interested in this grind, you can go into the social district and mess around or try the pure pvp mode.

How is the pvp mode, like the graffiti missions, package delivery, shipment fights, etc.? The world pvp is "ok" for the most part, but generally you will still want a friend to play with. There are times where vip missions can be the most grueling and least fun thing in the game but general events can be fun. The pvp area like the shipment area is generally the place you will see a cheater if you do. Are cheaters common? Out of the general 200-400 players online, maybe 20-30 will have some kind of cheat enabled. Generally they are walls, but in the bigger pvp zones you will see aimbots as there are some large open spaces where sniping is possible. Most often lmgs are the biggest cheating gun. The special/holiday events are always quite a bit fun.

Customization is the only thing you truly are forced to pay for in this game, as you are limited to the amount you can do without it. If you play enough or check out APB's twitter, you'll find that they do give out vip status on occasion because of hiccups or other events. If you get free VIP you can make and customize a bunch of stuff for yourself or for sell. There are lots of helpful tips you can google on how to make things in game.

Is playing a criminal more fun than enforcer? For the most part I enjoyed playing as a criminal with a large group of friends a lot more. Driving around in a van at low levels to smash stores for loot that we would all scatter to collect was awesome. If I were to play the game for longer, i'd do so as a criminal with my clan of friends. Playing as enforcer was more fun alone or with one other person. The difference in non-lethal weapons meant very little, and I mostly wanted to play enforcer because of the exclusive outfits and cars.

What would make me want to play this game again? The cheaters are obviously something i'd prefer fixed but mostly i'd like something more interesting involved in the games factions and missions. The games world didn't really have much life to it other than running in between the npcs and spotting players along the way. The districts needed to be larger, more diverse, and with more to do in them.

If you do plan on playing, make sure you check the factions available for what you want and make sure you understand the differences in the weapons that have slots and the ones that don't.

Arma 3 with mods seems to offer more to the role of survival with Exile and Epoch and if you want some zombies Breaking Point. Hell you can even play DayZ maps in Arma 3 and maps from Arma 2.

This game has great music and artwork, and yes its not hard to finish. It only takes about 6 min. but its worth playing it for that time.
