Like the I Spy books, but each page only has 1 item to find. And PNG jumpscares too.

Fun single player game, but lacking a bit of content in that regard. It banks a bit much on the multiplayer aspect, but with mods you can have a bit of fun.

Boss fights are fun, but the regular enemies leave a lot to be desired. There's some glitches to be encountered. Gameplay loop gets a bit monotonous, grab kills become the defacto way of killing on harder difficulties since long range gunplay isn't rewarded and enemies can obliterate you. Story is interesting, but non story levels are BAD. It takes a lot of fun and nice mechanics from other games but the foundation of the this game doesn't hold them up well.

Has gameplay issues and map geometry issues. I've fallen out of the map on the underground siberian level, and enemies can still shoot you while you're grabbing them. Enemies can get stuck in the ground, which in the arena missions can make it a chore to hunt down the one idiot staring at a wall while he's halfway in the ground.

It feels like it wants to be like brutal doom, but without as many weapons to actively switch between on your person it makes this game suffer a bit. Like it has fast gameplay, but if you just happen to bring the wrong weapon set to a level then you're out of luck and the momentum you feel just stops completely. I've died countless times because I started a mission with a shotgun, when it'd be better to have a sniper and vice versa. Lack of ADS is a big hindrance in some levels because of this as well. I could easily and accurately shoot people by just aiming, but without ADS if the first bullet doesn't hit on things like the SMG then the rest of them probably won't unless you completely stop firing because of recoil. Shotgun is a cotton candy launcher at any range outside of kissing range without the fire addon, but stepping on burning enemy bodies hurts you. It makes sense since your armour seems to be made of paper, so your boots probably are as well. If you stop your cloak or attack while using it, it completely drains the meter and you have to wait to recharge before using it again. Makes stealth more of a chore than anything.

It feels just a little too speed runny. I've had instances on harder difficulties where I just pop or trip the enemies and run past them to the next area (they then despawn when the door closes behind me).

Boss fights are extremely fun since you usually aren't fighting a constant stream of 10 guys all at once. Arena fights on the other hand end up becoming slide into enemy, grab enemy, kill enemy, repeat. Maybe it's more fun on easier difficulties where shotguns won't just 1-2 shot you (you're forced to play harder difficulties to get some unlocks). So full armour and health, 1 shotgun blast and I'm at half health no armour. Also throwing enemies is almost completely pointless. It staggers enemies for half a second and then they're back to shooting you while you ready your gun. Yes these CHAD enemies can brush off an adult sized man being thrown at their head.

AND the worst part of all, you can't select the firing mode on things like the pistol. It's an ADDON that you INSTALL at the BENCH. YOU CAN'T JUST SELECT BETWEEN BURST FIRE AND SEMI AUTO AND FULL AUTO. There's an entire dedicated keybind for aiming with scopes that's barely ever used on most of the guns, and scopes slow you down too much to be that useful anyways. Scope in and kill 3 enemies, and in that time you're getting pelted from all over from the enemies that just spawned behind a locked door.

Another abandoned mojang game. They can barely put out updates to regular minecraft, so don't expect too much from this.

LAN games barely work properly and they actively removed the option to use an IP to connect. 200$ of DLC to make the game semi enjoyable and interesting (besides copy paste leaders). The only plus is DX12 support.

New update works well with Proton GE 7.3. No crashing issues and the new save rebuilding is a life saver if you ever lose a save to a crash of some sort.

The feeling of the first game feels lost in this one. From a grungy and dirty horde shooter to a quirky futuristic/modern horde shooter. The gameplay is still there as well as the zeds. Some of the redesigns leave a bit to be desired, especially the patriarch with his weird futuristic green hulk mutant look. Also some of the character personalities are a bit too quirky or extremely stereotypical, like an evil German scientist boss and an overly religious scotsman. It seems like 2 teams were fighting on how the game should feel, on one side some things things have some of the old appeal but then even more has the ultramodern stale style feeling like the portal map from the first game but without the rundown aspects of it. Gone is the feeling of running and gunning through run down dirty places like city streets and old labs, now it's high tech facilities and very clean modern cities with a few papers and trash bags around (not even a single black gum spot on the sidewalks).
It's as if another studio made a spiritual successor, but changed enough visually to not get sued. Fun for a bit but gets stale quickly.

As hardware advances, games like this one get left in the dust. This version runs like ♥♥♥♥ on modern hardware and probably won't get any fixes. Better to just emulate it unless you really want mods.
