What a great little game. Took me about 16 hours to complete, so worth the cost IMO. Love to see the game world expanded in the future!

I'm a huge fan of these types of games with hundreds of hours in games such as Vampire Survivors and Halls of Torment and if you like those games you're sure to love this! I've had this game for 5 days and have already played it 48+ hours. I really can't put it down.

One of the best things I like about the game is that it's actually difficult as you push hazard levels and that makes clearing them much more satisfying.

While I agree the level 3 is a huge step up in difficulty as other have pointed out, it can be done given time and luck. I haven't even attempted a lvl 4. LOL

Overall, WELL worth the money if survivor/bullet hell games are your jam!

By far the best game I've played in over a decade. Hopefully, this WILL set a new standard in game breadth and quality for all games in the future....it will be a hard standard to beat for sure.

There's a lot to love about this game.

Already put 26 hours in in just a week or so. Definitely give me Satisfactory are Subnautica vibes with the hand crafted world and unlock progression, and while the devs have said that random procedural generation of the world isn't on the table I would love to see it happen as it would greatly increase the replay value of the game.

The fact there's no enemies to deal with (other than the environment) allows for as relaxed a play style as you want.

There are some bugs as to be expected, Most of what I saw were a lot of clipping issues....some of which can be used to exploit and get into areas not meant to be accessed till later in the game, and at one point I even fell out of the map. But aside from these issues (which can be avoided easily) the game plays amazingly well.

I love the way the planet slowly changes over time, as it truly gives you a sense of accomplishment!

Kudus to this small dev team for making such a great title! I can't wait to see where the future takes this game as it's already looking to be one of my future go-to games.

Background - 4000+ Hours in VRC - 3 in CVR
Hardware - Index w/ FBT on a RTX 3090

I plan on keeping an eye on CVR. Being a avid VRChat player I'm pretty familiar with all of the ins-and-outs of VRC, what it's good at and what it isn’t. I’ve just started messing around in CVR and would like to give my first impressions.

I won't mention anything about the playable content of CVR compared to VRC because that's pointless. CVR was just released...VRC has been out for years. Given enough time though, I believe the CVR platform has the capability and functionality to make better and more enjoyable content in the long run.

My immediate first impressions:

Visually the game seemed more vibrant, detailed, and smoother than VRC even in the starting world. This didn't seem to be a content observation but a technical one. It just seemed....more crisp and detailed. Objects in the world interacted more realistically IMO.

After messing around with unity and the CVR SDK I managed to get my personal avatar loaded and joined a few familiar worlds solo. Performance overall appeared better than in VRC counterparts.

The IK for FBT appears to be more sensitive and responsive, however still needs a bit of work. Calibrating took a bit for me to get everything moving right, but still some movements were still a little wonky, most notably the hip/chest movement for me. But overall, still better FBT tracking/movement in comparison to VRC IMO.

Joined a world with 15 other people and this is where I noticed a fairly large drop in performance. But nothing that was unexpected. After turning off some settings, or setting them to friends only, performance returned. It should be noted that performance issue, just like in VRC, are the majority of the time due to user created content and it's optimization, not the platform. However, having said that, I can say that given an apples-to-apples situation, I am certain that CVR would outperform, FPS wise, VRC handily.

In short, CVR could be the game that might be the next stepping stone in the social VR experience journey. Only time will tell, but it's definitely worth taking a look into if that's your thing.

VRChat is something pretty unique in my opinion. Having put in about 60 hours in 2 weeks after getting it here's my MAJOR impressions.

PROS
-----------------
--Pretty much unlimited potential for content. If it can be dreamed up, you, or somebody else with the know-how, can or already has made it. I've been to dance clubs, quaint Japanese towns, up space elevators, and camping out in the woods. I've been a transformer, robot, cat, Doritos bag, chair, neko chick, batman, and about 100 other things/people.

--You can be as social as you like. This may seem odd to say in a VR"Chat" game, but sometimes it's nice just to go and relax alone by a fire in the woods, which I did for 30 min, and it was amazing. I myself tend to be more quiet and chime up when I overhear something that interests me, and then I just add my 2 cents. Sometimes it doesn't lead anywhere, but sometimes you strike up a conversation among people that lasts for 2 hours chilling on a rooftop (which I did) and made some new friends.

--For as much content as this platform can provide it performs very well. Of course I can only speak from the perspective of my own system (Ryzen 1800x, 2080RTX, 1Gbps Fiber) but most worlds I have ever been in have been silky smooth, and even a 500MB+ world only took about 45 seconds to load up. However, player avatars CAN and DO affect this...See the CONS list below.

--While I don't have too many friends yet in the game, I have already seen the fantastic potential for group chat/hangout sessions. If you've ever just chilled in a Discord channel with a bunch of friends chatting, then imagine that with a full VR world around you that you all could be in...would be amazing IMO.

CONS
-----------------
--Like myself, many people's only exposure to VRChat is through a Meme or YouTube compilation video showing a bunch of "Do you know da WEI?" stuff. I would LOVE to say that sort of behavior isn't common, but it is. This is especially the case in high populated "gathering" worlds, like the "The BOX" or "Presentation Room". These worlds are often filled with people (new users and otherwise) that are just there to be as intrusive to others as they can. Luckily there are safety features the game has that allows you to mitigate a lot of the annoyances. However, I still come across some jackhole who blows out my eardrums and blurs my entire screen for 30 seconds or until I force close the game. Use the safety features, and block/mute features liberally.

--People being able to make their own avatars is awesome, but it comes with a price. Many people use avatars that are just not optimized for the game and can impact your framerate. Hell, I've been in a world with 10+ other people with silky smooth frame rate and one person shows up with such an avatar and it becomes a slide show. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much you can do about it, other than disable that person's avatar.

--IMO, to get the most enjoyment from VRChat, Full body tracking is a must. Unfortunately, it's either complicated to setup using various bits and pieces of other hardware/software (ie:Kinect), or expensive (each VIVE tracker is about $100 and you need 3). I spent a little over $950 on my VR setup (VIVE, 3 Trackers, Deluxe Audio Head strap, straps for the trackers). Worth it to me, but definitely a hit to the old wallet.

NEUTRALS
------------------

--Although it has a desktop mode, you won't get the true "feel" of VRChat and it may seem a little bland, and nothing more than a glorified chat room. For those with a VR headset you will definitely be in a much better position to appreciate the beauty and hard work that others have put into some of the worlds and avatars. Full body tracking ( which I picked up after only playing VRChat for less than 10 hours) is tremendously beneficial in helping you become fully immersed in the environment.

--You CAN create your own avatars and worlds after a short "trial" period. It took about 24 hours of game time to gain access to this. It will not be an easy task if you haven't used Unity or other 3D programs before, however if you're technically inclined you CAN figure it out with some time and effort. I personally have never used Unity before but did manage to make my own personal little world, which is very satisfying.

CONCLUSION
------------------
Overall, I'm enjoying my time in VRChat, and I'm sure I will continue to do so well into the future. If you have a VR System give it a shot, it's free so nothing to lose. Spend a few hours looking around the worlds, and don't just go in popular worlds, find a world to yourself that looks interesting and explore it. There are worlds out there that will suit pretty much anybody's taste.

I hope this has been helpful.

I really hate giving this game a thumbs down, because content wise it's a great game, however, it's pretty much unplayable after 30 min or so playing it. You start to lose framerate the longer you play which leads me to believe theres a huge optimization issue with the game. And it doesn't matter what type of PC you have. I have a 2080RTX with 32GB RAM, and SSD and after 30 min or so I was getting average 7-10 FPS.

Guess I'll come back to this game after it's been optimized.
