I initially thought I'd like this game, from playing through the tutorials, but then after starting up sandbox mode I stumbled across what I thought was a bug: I couldn't build under a platform. After posting on Reddit, I found out the game (despite having a 3D isometric rotatable view, and depths) is actually 2D under the hood, so you cannot build under or over already existing elements. To me, this is a complete design flaw and has completely ruined the experience for me. I don't see the point of having different depths available if you cannot utilise them and is a severe limitation for some designs I wanted to try out.

As such, I honestly cannot recommend this game due to this major flaw.

Staff are also fairly dumb, even with the priority system.

I also had some issues reducing ambient heat. No amount of fans or air ducts I could place in my station actually reduced the heat.

Well, I suppose after 230-odd hours of gameplay, I ought to review this game! The TS series has been iconic in railroad simulation. The engine and graphics are second-to-none and are a major selling point of this simulator. Just to show how dedicated the development team are, they actually got Hitachi to take a look at their Javelin model to see if it handles like the real thing. The routes are amazingly detailed, and true to life. I would like to see more new features in later releases rather than just a rebranding (I'm looking at you, TS 2014), and perhaps an easier to use route builder would be handy (seriously, I've tried to make a route many times, I just cannot get my head around the builder).

If you're a railroad enthusiast this really is the simulator for you, it beats any competitor hands down on realism. If you are looking for a train game where you want to crash the trains around a bit, this is NOT for you.

Prison Architect has given me many hours of challenges and fun, even in its Alpha stage. I love the building style and the variety of designs you can come up with. The engine on this game is extremely well thought out with riots and breakouts if you get it wrong, to cashing it in if you get it right. I highly recommend this game.

This mod is software engineering wizardry. Imagine all the fun of JC2, but with your friends, and enemies. Gain money through races and derby events, team up with your mates, crash bang and otherwise destroy Panau in one huge multiplayer mash. I throughly enjoyed the Beta, lets hope the release is just as fantastic.
