I first played the demo of this game in May 2022 and then played a build of the game at Super MAGFest 2023.

Let me tell you this: this game rules. It goes SO HARD: the graphics, the art design, the sound, the music, the story and progression.. it's just so good!

I know at the time of this writing I only have about four hours into the game and while it doesn't take long to get through it (about an hour with my first playthrough), I feel like this game has a ton of replayability, especially with the amount of unlockable cosmetics this game has to offer.

List of everything I love:
-The brutal design of the stage art. It's very Contra/Metal Slug/DOOM inspired. I wish there was more of it, but for what we did get, it's absolutely fantastic.
-The rocking soundtrack.. that includes the original and the "retro" versions
-The gameplay is as retro as you can get.. if not for the gore, this could easily be a Contra game.. and that's a compliment! Especially since I never really clung onto Contra as much as I have with IRON MEAT.

List of everything I dislike:
-Uneven difficulty. The stages go from hard to easy to hard to easy and so forth. Some of the later stages actually felt easier than some of the earlier stages.. this might be because I'm not particularly good at these sorts of games, but I felt like the game could have use more ramp-up in regards to the curve of difficulty.
-I wish it was possible to aim your weapon without having to move.. specifically at an angle.. would have liked it if there was a dedicated aim button (shoulder button maybe on controller?) in addition to the already well designed movement

This game is amazing. Play the demo, buy the game, play the game and leave a review.

While it only took me about five hours to complete the main story, I must disclose that I am still very much still playing this game.. still discovering new stuff and regular unlocks are still happening.

Things I really like about this game:
- Story is fun and engaging with a story presented in a similar way like the game Hades, minus the voice acting - was able to complete the main story within five hours, but there is so much more content that you can easily spend 40 hours in this game and not get bored.
- Combat is very easy to understand and if you get the right sort of combination going, you can become wildly powerful to the point of feeling unstoppable.. but be careful, you don't want to get too overly confident in your abilities because the moment you think you've got things under control you might not be better prepared for later biomes, things can easily get out of control (especially with boss fights!!)
- Everything with the setting is wonderful: the lore & mythology, the time period, the music, the way the characters are written.. I just absolutely love feeling immersed in the game's surroundings.

Things that could be (minor) improved:
-Maybe more characters?
-More Endgame Challenges

Overall, this game is wonderful and I am going to keep playing.. I will eventually do a video review to better explore my feelings on this title but this game is going to be hard to beat when it comes to other roguelike deckbuilding games for 2024.. that's how high I can praise this game!

I don’t usually post reviews to Steam pages for various reasons, but I had to do one for Caravan Sandwitch. I started to follow this game several months before release because I found the game's aesthetics appealing. I completed my first playthrough, with 100% of all achievements and everything found, in under 13 hours.

The first thing I noticed when I started the game was the clean title screen, the game’s beautiful soundtrack and I was immediately on board with the game’s world and storytelling. After finishing my first playthrough, I can wholeheartedly recommend this game.

Some people might not like the game because it lacks combat, voice acting, and the so-called “Wokeness” (I feel gross even writing out that word) that some people are up in arms about, but if you give this game a chance, maybe you’ll fall in love with it as much as I did.

--Standouts with this game:

* Open world exploration
* Responsive driving controls in the van
* Wonderfully written scenario, character development, and realistic feeling dialog between the main character and the others you meet.
* Runs beautifully on Steam Deck

My personal negatives about this game

* Very minor graphic glitches
* Some of the platforming on ledges and ziplines doesn’t always work right the first time
No VSYNC options - I had a lot of screen tearing on my PC
* A little on the easy side


That being said, I love this game. So far, at the time of writing this on Sept 16 2024, it is my favorite game of the year. Not just my favorite indie game, but my favorite game by any studio released this year.

Cute hidden object game. The devs actually have several of these games, all pretty fun.

Would love to see the devs make some bunny hidden object games.

Sadly not endless. 20 levels and then you fight a boss with no option to continue. Maybe some day we'll get a true endless mode... would be fun to see what insane builds you can come up with.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this game and the DLC and will buy any future DLC that is released for Neon Abyss.

Brilliant soundtrack by Red Dew Hellpipes. Good mix of celtic and rock. I'm not very good at the game itself, but I can definitely appreciate the rocking music to this game.

Really short, but very sweet. Ten/Ten by Ten.

Just like learning river rafting, this game might be difficult.. it is also extremely fun! I love it, even if it can be annoying with randomness at times. Give it a chance, and I assure you're end up liking it!

Difficult at times, Super Crush K.O. is a WILDLY addictive beat 'em up brawler that's better than most. It's super cute, has a great love story, fun comic book style storytelling, with ever challenging enemies and locales. Highly, highly recommend this LGBT friendly title!

I really wanted to love this game. It's not the worst game I've played, but why bother when better games existed like Super Crush K.O., River City Underground, and Streets of Rage 4.
