I've been a much more active member since joining a community based around this game. I've made so many friends and experienced so many beautiful things in VR. I originally joined as a desktop user, and actually got my headset through someone I met through the community/game!

Regardless of that, the game is amazing, even on desktop mode. On the flip side, it is the most expensive free game on the market. Join with caution.
