DYE is an incredibly underrated gem of a platformer, and should appeal to those looking for a fair amount of difficulty. It's got a fun aesthetic that adds to the addictive gameplay, and stands out as a game which is actually enjoyable trying to 100%. The game is challenging, but never too difficult to warrant significant annoyance. Comparing to Super Meat Boy, I'd say its a fair bit easier, and I personally had far more patience playing this game. As you progress, each 'world' introduces new mechanics that keeps the action fresh and exciting, and there's more than enough content to sink your teeth into. There's also some decent enough music to accompany your adventures. The only gripe I have with the game is regarding wall-sliding, as once you've started sliding it's difficult to immediately go back to controlling your character through the air. Other than a few unwarranted deaths along the way, I had a great lot of fun with DYE and would highly recommend it. If you're looking for an addictive little platformer, you should definitely pick this one up.

Amazing game that only builds upon the first. The gameplay stays fun and enjoyable with a big collection of upgrades to buy. In addition to the engaging storyline is a plethora of artifacts to be found in enjoyable puzzles. Unfortunately, the repetition can occasionally make the game mundane, but it's no-where near enough to stop playing. If you somewhat enjoyed the first then you should definitely give SteamWorld Dig 2 a try.

Expendabros
is a 2D action shooter, developed to promote the (at the time) upcoming movie, The Expendables 3. The overrall game is very short (approx. 1hr), but that is to be expected as it basically acts as a free demo to Broforce.

The plot is loosely based on that of the film, it revolves around your team of seven "Expendabros" who are trying hunt down the notorious arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks. Not that you exactly care about the plot, I mean you are only playing the game for destroying everything you see.

Death is pretty swift, only takes one bullet to take you down, same rules apply to most of your enemies. It's pretty tempting to destroy the entire map but it may or may not prove difficult for you to traverse it. Soon you will begin to realise the repetitive nature of the gameplay. Everything is relatively similar, shoot guns and throw knives at the bad guys, good ol' run&gun gameplay. Even though it is pretty much the same (apart the two boss fights and a minor flexing cut scene) it still manages to entice you to finish the game. I would like to point out that some more of the flexing type gameplay would be nice, as it lets you take a short break from the more monotonous gameplay.

The pixelated graphics are nice. One of my favourite parts of this game was the excitement you had as you got to see all the different tricks that the cast had when you'd unlock them, flamethrowers, knives, etc. And the replayability of this game isn't great. I mean, I've 13hrs going through it so it was good enough for me, but that was only because I was pretty hyped to buy Broforce. Definately enjoyable to play, free and fun, it's worth your time.

Summary

Pros
+Enjoyable unlocking characters
+Effectively serves as a demo for Broforce
+Jam-packed with testosterone
+Free

Cons
-Little replayability
-Repetitive gameplay

Scoring:
7.8/10

I'm telling you, the people who made this game have shares in the mouse-making industry.

This game is $20. That's $20 too much.
