Grab three friends, and buy this game. The game is awesome, and has so much to explore between ship costumization and finding what role you fit into best of a ship.

It's hilariously fun to sit on skype, man the guns, frantically fix ship parts that are on fire, and shout at your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pilot for flying you into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PIECE OF WRECKAGE. YOU HAD ONE JOB ANDREW. ONE JOB, DAMMIT.

But seriously, grab a 4 man crew and create your own ship and Shoot kids out of the skies. You won't regret it!

Early Access Review
Starbound is a very expansive and abitious Sandbox style side-scrolling adventure/exploration game. The game itself can appeal almost to any audience by allowing the player to focus on a wide variety of tasks. You're able to explore new planets, raid Dungeons for rare items and weapons, collect and hoard cosmetic furniture and items of all the (curently 6) different Races. You're able to dig, mine, and explore any of the almost-inifinte number of randomly-generated Planets in the galaxy for hous and continually find new content and be surprised at every turn of your tunnel system. There is a Quest system in place (that as of Early Access has only a handful of story-progression based quests) but has an amazing potential for those who love to find and complete the most ridiculous tasks. You can spend your time creating and building massive cities and towns and fill them with NPC's and merchants, and you can even set a Home Planet to build this city on, and always come back to it. Hell, you can get so into the game that you can build and plow a farm to grow crops and create a wide array of food and recipies (that you can also find all over the Galaxy in chests and dungeons).

At the moment, the game is in an Early Access Beta that consists of multiple Beta stages. The amount of content in the game is already very high, and with the amount and speed of the patches, balance changes and new content being added dramatically increases the playability and re-playability of the game.

It is important to note, while in the early stages of the Beta, character and universe wipes/resets may be common to balance and reset some of the game's structure that are being tested by hundreds of thousands of players. (And I know, becuase my group of friends has already crazily broken some of the game's mechanics and bugs) For those completionists and hoarders who love to gather everything and build elaborate structures, you may want to wait until the game is in a more stable stage, to not wipe your progress multiple times and burn yourself out of the magic this game holds.

Starbound may seem easy to compare to Terraia, another popular side-scrolling sandbox game, and there is certainly merit in that statment. The game's share many mechanics and a similar graphical picelated style. However the games are amazing and unique to themselves. Anyone who has given Terraria a try should give Starbound the same treatment. Both games are fantastic experiences that hold their own pros and cons, it is up to the player to decide which they enjoy more.

Overall Starbound is an incredibly ambitious game and so far, has hit the mark dead on. With updates confirmed for /at least/ a year after the game Launches officially, and more updates after that being created by a smaller, dedicated team of developers, this game will easily become a heavy-hitter of the Indie developer style of games that have grown in popularity as of late.

If you haven't bought it yet, I would definitely advise you to buy it. Now. (Hell, buy a 4-Pack and get three friends to beam across the universe with.) But definitely take a bit to research the game on their website at ( playstarbound.com ) and look into the different stages of Beta if it is still in Early Acess, as each stage will appeal to different types of players. (Those Beta wipes can be rough for those attached to their character, items, or Home-World)

Buy this game, log hours in and get lost in the massive Universe. Seriously, I highly doubt you will regret this purchase.

A very fun, very addicting game. The amount of content in the game is simply amazing. Plenty of things to do with a friend or solo.

Definitely recomend to everyone out there.
