First of all, I've never played any other Civ game before, just have that in mind while reading.
I really wanted to remommend this game but honestly I can't and there are few reasons why.
1. The game itself is too expensive and most of the discounts are not enough, and to be fair expansions like Rise&Fall or Gathering Storm are huge and bring a lot to the game but my main issue is, that the game itself without DLC seems bland and boring, and I feel more like most of the DLC's are cut content and not something addicional.
2. Ideas behind expansions are great, free cities, golden age's, climate change issue and stuff but really after a while of playing, most of this stuff seems quite unpolished and badly designed. For example, I have been playing with a friend, and at one point he was able to build a lot of coal power plants which resulted in drastic climat change, and world congress didn't really give a crap about that until it was to late to change anything, and even after it did propose something to reduce CO2 it was laughable since there are no real disadvantages of not participating in it
3. AI of course, won't type to much about it every other review already mentioned it.
4. I feel like there is a lack of balance and I seriously doubt that any of the dev's played more than few turns in their game or even beta tested any improvements or changes. Units use too much resources to maintain and yeah I know that I should be fighting for those resources as well, but I don't want to do that when late game unit deathrobot to be precise do hardly any damage to any city, and it takes 20 turns to capture it.
5. Bugs and UI are unberable after a while. It's really infuriating when something eats up your recourses and you can't really tell since on the resource tab it only says "-5 units" or "-2 energy". It is hard to find certain districts and pop up's with info about hexes takes ages to appear. Also in late game camera often jumps like crazy because game can't decide if you should move your units first or choose next produxtion in town.
Tl;dr:
This game has it's potential and can be fun to certain point, but is really unpolished and unbalanced. This plus price tag is a big no no for me

Really addictive, and pleasnt game. Gameplay is great. Overall its well balanced, playground is huge, and almost everything has it's use and value. There are very few needless items. If you are looking for some fun shooter and need a bit of competitive spirit, it's game for you :)

Trudna ale satysfakcjonująca, z całkiem przyjemnym systemem rozwoju postaci. Posiada genialy system walki, i w ciekawy sposób rozwiązany multiplayer urozmaicający rozgrywkę. Pozatym gra trzyma ciężki i mroczny klimat pasujący do wykreowanego świata.
