While the gameplay accurately mirrors paper MTG, and in some cases--like Alchemy--goes beyond it, the drawbacks of a buggy and inconsistent application prevent me from recommending this. I have tried it on several computers with mixed outcomes. Even after an OS upgrade to Win 11 and full new drivers, the game will lock up after about an hour of play on one of my PCs. Then, it will lock up within one to two minutes until the game is re-installed. On other computers, it works better, but with connectivity and infinite load/waiting for match times sprinkled in. It isn't the greatest experience.

I rarely review games because I rarely find something worth reviewing. But this game actually fills me with wonder and excitement, which are feelings I thought long lost in my video game career. I can't wait to see what is over the next hill!

The combat is a little wonky, but that's I figure that can get fixed in EA. The crafting loop feels rewarding to me.

The best part is how easy it is to play with friends without having to set up a private server.

After the blandness of Enshrouded, this game feels like a rich dessert.
