This is billed as a hack and slash game, which it absolutely is, but I think it's technically more of a "stylish action" game. There's a surprising amount of depth to the combat despite having no lose mechanic, you are given scores for how well you play and penalties for when you don't dodge attacks. You can play this game as well or as poorly as you want, which might have appeal for people who want to master the mechanics and for people who want to play casually. And back to the depth, is there so much depth to the combat. I did a whole playthrough and didn't figure out every mechanic and how to do every move (granted, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed for these kinds of games despite my love for them). There's incentive to play through again and get better, figure out everything.

On that note, the presentation of the game is definitely a draw. The randomized worlds keep things interesting and the overall aesthetics work together. There is a story to this which also keeps things interesting as you play through. The presentation on the boss fights was definitely a highlight for me. The OST is the other big highlight to mention and also a draw to keep playing the game for, or just listen to it on Wolfgun's Bandcamp. It's a great OST and a lot of it I would say is among his best work.

If this game strikes your interest try the demo. You're given the tutorial and gameplay up to the first boss.
