This game is just weapons grade nostalgia for my childhood. I don't know if I hadn't grown up swapping out floppy disks playing this, if I would still love it as much. If someone drops into this without that history, let me know, I'd be fascinated.

While I enjoyed this game immensely, I did have to fight to get it to be playable on my system, which is a RTX 3060, 32GB RAM and a Ryzen 9 CPU. The fights would drop the FPS down to 2fps. I had to turn everything down to get it to not bog down in fights.

That said, the world is amazing, and stunning.

A fun, quick little diversion. I had a ton of fun in the mid-game. I'm sure I'll play the DLC soon.

It is amazing how a puzzle game can be so beautiful. How can a game about robots can have so much humanity. How a game set in a dystopia can have so much hope for the future.

As the game got closer to the end, I felt a sadness that I would have to leave this beautiful world. All I want is more!

This is the spiritual successor to the old Sierra Heroes Quest/Quest for Glory games. It is all here, with more humor, charm and snark than ever before. There is a heap of in jokes and references that reward folks that have played the previous games.

The first play through was challenging, and I didn't get Rogue of the Year, but my 2nd playthrough I knew what to focus on. I'd invested in the Kickstarter, but hadn't gotten around to it until now. I wish I had so much sooner!

A rogue like that respects player's time. I was hitting a wall and had spent enough time in the game, the game lets you dial difficulty down without punishing you. The game's traits are hilarious still, and the new traits and classes are fun. If I ever play through this again I'm going to unlock the boxers sooner. Really fun class.

Is this a great game? Yes it is fantastic.
Can I recommend it? No.
This game has a fun plot, and fantastic characters. I've loved previous Supergiant games. But to "complete" this game will take thousands of hours.
Just unlocking the final journal entry for Elysium would take at least 16-19 hours of grinding, and that is if you just crank for it.
I thought hey I'll try to blast through the game in god mode just to get through the plot. God mode doesn't actually keep you from getting killed and starting over too.
So the root of the question, is this a good game, yes. Can I recommend it? No, the people I know don't have the time to spend this much time alone grinding. I had fun, finally escaped Hades, but the fun of the game loop is going to lose fun long before I complete the story.
This is not a game for people with friends, responsibilities and a life.

Scratches that puzzle itch, with a meta game that is fascinating.

I use this for burn in and testing on all my new personal computers. It has been fun tracking the performance through all iterations, and is a good tool for figuring out if your're overclocking is doing anything.

This game is so great, I can't figure out if it is better than the original. Story wise it is great, and gameplay is intact from the first one with the addition of two fun new powers and wall jumps.
