As a die hard fan of the Alien franchise it wasn't a question that should i buy the game or not.
However, the marketing of the game was really shady (we had no clue that this is only a slice of the whole story, the devs revelaed this in the last few hours before the game relese) and the game on pcvr version is not very optimized at this moment. The game released without Virtual Desktop support which was a huge bummer but credit for the dev team they solved it under a few days but still the game could be running better.

The game itself is a faithful entry to the franchise but don't expect canon defining story or anything releated with the movies.

The game itself wasnt really scary aside from 1-2 sections and maybe a handful of jumpscare scenes, mostly because the AI of the aliens are pretty dumb.
Combat wise you got plenty of firepower to fight back but the fact that most of the time you'll face 2 xenos gets boring quick.
Also there was no smartgun section.. hopefully part 2 will get some.

Overall i've enjoyed my time with the game because the station atmoshpere was pretty spot on, but i really hope that part 2 will step up in both horror and combat wise.

A solid VS clone, but as long the movement penalty while attacking will not be removed from the game this review stays negative. It ruins everything.

Ignore the nominee award. this game lacks any content and polish even for an EA release.
It shows premise and has a unusual feeling, but there is alot of work need to be done.

The game is actually pretty good but painfully short on content.
Don't buy it on full price, wait for a sub 10 usd sale.

This has to be one if not the most impressive fps game in recent memory. The action, movement, vehicle sections, the OST... you can't play this game without smiling!

The concept is awesome, however i needed 2 weeks just to finish the first chapter because the game is so tedious i would rather watch the grass grow. Yup, i play on exterminatus and i still bored to death.

The worst part is the sound design. Why is this game so quiet? Don't come at me with the taunt button, i want to hear EVERYONE shouting like a maniac, are these heretics introverts or what?
The music is very forgetable, there is nothing from that epicness that you would expect from it.
Guns also, why do they have so weak sound effects?

The gameplay itself is serviceable at best, it could be better if the chainsword would be actually useful and if we had a bit more enemy variety.

So far this game is mediocre at best and it is highly overrated for no reason.

Warhammer 40k meets with XCOM in a wonderfully way.
Killer gameplay with decent graphics and a serviceable storyline.

My only complaints:
1, The game is brutally punishing you. If you new to the genre you will suffer even in the easiest difficulty, not excatly in the beginning but from mid to endgame it will be abysmal if you don't know what are you doing.
Pro tip: don't be me who was raised only 1 squad, manage atleast two squads! I was forced to restart the campaing because of my stupidness. :)

2, I'm not a huge Warhammer 40k head, but imho Warhammer 40k is all about huge scale. The battles are fun, but very tiny in scale, 95% of the time we face only with infantry units, where are the vehicle units? I guess it was a neccessary move to fit the game in the genre.

3, No mod support. Really? This game screams for mod support! New maps, new factions, even races... c'mon devs!

Meaningless upgrades both in meta and ingame, even if you pick all the defensive option you will get obliterated in mere seconds while you enjoy the worst damage recieving sound effect that humanity ever created.

I expected a fun little game with cool body experimental gimmicks and everything goes crazy in mere seconds kinda gameplay.

The second part is very true, but not like i'd like.

The game is more like a tower defense (from the worst kind), because if you let your creatures do their thing then the game will crush you hard. Actually it will crush you no matter what you do.

You can have 15 creatures max. So 14 will sit in the tower (preferably ranged dps and crowd control) and you will control manually the last remaning guy exploring and picking up junk until some buffed up guy comes and destroys evertything. Very fun indeed.

Meta progression is included, however i've found only one option worth upgrading, the other ones are worthless.

Not a big loss at 2 euros, but this could be such a good game if it wasn't that unforgiving.

Why do people praises this game?
The game lacks any polish, nearly everything looks like a placeholder and i've encountered gamebreaking bugs quite constatly. Like literally you can softlock yourself in the inventory screen if you try to fiddle with your items.
Performance is also awful, the game even on highest settings looks serviceable at best and with my freshly upgraded rig (5800x3d with 4070ti) the performance is all over the place.

At this current state with this price tag is a big nono for me.
