Hello all of you. First of all, I played Gothic 1 & 2 & NOTR & Risen. I'm a huge fan of the first two Gothic games and i've waited oh so long for a worthy sequel.

TLDR: Good Teaser, was fun, some Gothic feel, needs much work and love

Here's the longer one.
The teaser starts off very movielike with bright colors and explosions and what not.
Right at the start you wouldn't be able to guess that you're playing Gothic right now as the main character comments way too much and is not the badass we're all used to. The color saturation is off, by a long shot. Also the colony seems more like a tropical island instead of a ruthless place full of prisoners.
It's not the Gothic feel that made Gothic.. well Gothic.
That is, by far, the biggest point I dislike.
To create an exceptional remake THQ Nordic would need to keep the rough Gothic feel, while expanding dialog, story, base mechanics and playability. This is a huge task, but i believe they're more than talented enough.

Now to the mechanics:

Exploring and Looting:
Pro:
- The controls are intuitive and easy to get into.
- The character is now able to sprint, which adds a bit of speed to the game.
- Lots of stuff scattered all around the world.
Contra:
- The items, that you can pick up, are highlighted by a marker and thus, easy to see from a distance.
- The areas are complex and littered with props, which sags the performance and makes it hard to navigate.
- Checkpoints.

Inventory and Menus:
Pro:
- Is easier to find certain items by category.
- Can't drop Quest items any more. (No f*ck ups by accident anymore)
Contra:
- Flames in the background seem unnecessary.
- Character render seems unnecessary and sucks up performance.
- !Important: Going into the Inventory pauses the whole game! That means you can eat all you have and
reheal yourself like in skyrim for example. Needs to be fixed, ASAP
- Seems too complex for me, as a simple inventory would've sufficed.
- Can't drop Quest items any more ( for the fun :( )

Fighting:
Pro:
- Feels good, still clunky but could be very good when reworked a bit.
- Stamina mechanic adds a layer of strategy to the fights.
Contra:
- As said before: Can pause the game by going into Inventory and then heal up.
- Hitboxes.

Dialog:
Pro:
- Feels like Gothic (especially that Cayden part).
Contra:
- Too much camera movement.
- Too few dialog options.
- No option to skip single sentences (or the whole dialog).
- Very slow paced.

All in all: I was having fun playing it and the Fighting grew on me. I can only imagine how good it's going to be when it's polished and all the game's mechanics influence it!
