Rogue Trader is a game I would like to give a neutral score to. I have completed 1.5 runs, my first being Heretical and my second one, I am halfway through, being Iconoclast. The game up to the end of Act 3 is well-written and engaging. You can tell the developers know their 40k lore inside and out, and being a huge Warhammer 40k fan, that is appreciated. As any fan will know, there are many Warhammer games, but few 'good' Warhammer games.

Where this game falls apart is after Act 3. There are only two major quests in Act 4, with some sidequests that make it shorter than all the other acts before it. You can follow up on rumours if you piece together clues, but the rumour system is currently bugged, so without the Toybox mod, you cannot set the flags for some of the quests to work correctly. Act 5 took me 4.5 hours to complete on Daring during my first run and has many bugs with checks that mean, again, you have to use Toybox. I have a feeling that the later acts were not playtested or developed as much as they should have been.

As of patch .102 I can say that acts 1-3 have been a pleasure to play compared to my first run, but the bugs with rumours and several quests in acts 4-5 remain. I am of the opinion that a lot was cut from the last acts if you use the Toybox to access parts of the game that are half-done and usually inaccessible. Several areas were merged, and some parts of the story have been removed. I do not know why this is the case, but it is disappointing to see.

If you are a Warhammer fan like I am, this is like a love letter to the fandom in a game format that you have been waiting for. Even if you have never tried a cRPG before, I strongly recommend getting this game at some point. If you are a cRPG fan, then I also recommend getting the game at some point.

The part of me that is torn over this game is because I feel we only have 3/5 of a complete game. Even when the next patch comes out, even if all the bugs get fixed, acts 4 and 5 are too short. The secret companions you can get late in the game have no quests or even dialogue like the other ones you can get either, so for the current price Owlcat wants you to pay, you will have to choose if it is right for you. Many of the skills and talents do not work or are bugged as well. Currently, several quests late in the game are only doable with the Toybox mod; it is a must-have if you want to complete the game.

I give this game a 6.5/10 because of the bugs and needing a mod to complete quests. Buy it on sale after it is patched unless you are a huge Warhammer or cRPG fan.

Capcom is adding a new DRM to its back catalog, causing mod compatibility issues.

https://steamdb.info/app/1446780/history/?changeid=21991802

Although Capcom supposedly fixed the Steam deck compatibility issue, several mods do not function anymore.

https://archive.ph/SJrjZ

The maker of the DRM has a serious attitude problem. I cannot support Capcom using them as a DRM vendor.

Adding DRM to your back catalog is scummy behaviour. I will not be buying any more Capcom games until this behaviour ceases.

This is an 10-year-old game that has anti-modding DRM being added to it.

Further, although the update was rolled back, it is bad form to patch an 10-year-old game that is working fine for most people.

Don't get filtered, Buddy -Rusty, probably

Armored Core 6 is my game of the year, though voting for it as an AC purist and veteran of past games is somewhat painful for reasons I will discuss later. It took me around 75 hours to 100% the game through three runs. The story is one of the more memorable ones in my gaming career, and the writing is unique. Overall, this is a great game I doubt many will regret buying.

I played AC6 prior to several patches and only had one crash. I also lived through the dual Songbird/Zimmerman meta before those got nerfed. There still are meta choices in multiplayer, so if you are buying AC6 with multiplayer in mind, just understand that your campaign build may not be competitive in multiplayer.

As an AC veteran, I do not find this game worse or better than previous games; it's just different. I get that this game is simplified and meant for a greater mass appeal than previous titles, which is fine. For the casual gamer, this can work. The difficulty curve can be rewarding for the Souls-like fans, but I do not think it is nearly as difficult as other games in that genre once you understand the stagger mechanics. I do wish there was a mode for AC purists who miss all the options and tech that is missing that was present in other games. I used to spend hours getting my build just right.

The verticality of gameplay is well done, and the meshing of mechanics with the story is seamless. Again, this is one of the best games this year, and the gameplay and story set it apart, even with the missing items and options from previous Armored Core games. I wish there was a clear distinction for getting top ranks on each mission. Several missions took me many tries to get a top rank, and I did not know what I was doing wrong. A ranking system that is more granular and informative on where improvement is needed would be appreciated.

Overall, if you are a mech fan, love well-written stories and tight gameplay, or even want to start a sewing club, AC6 will not disappoint you. This game is one of the true highlights of the year, and I hope it wins several awards as it deserves it. I give this game a 9/10; bravo to the development team.

This DLC is very good in some ways but needs to improve in others. Whether you buy it or not is based on what you value in a DLC at this price point.

Firstly, the models for the Otomo mechs you get are some of the most detailed I have seen in Mechwarrior 5. I was pleasantly surprised at how much effort whoever put into making them look and feel unique. A special thank you for the thought into making them a cut above in terms of loadout, each offering something unique. The Catapult is my favourite, adding two light rifles to the usual all-energy mix I use with the K2. Note that you cannot buy them or encounter them elsewhere; you have to buy the DLC and go through the campaign. Also, note that for the Otomo Dragon mech, you have to buy it from the store during the DLC campaign, or you can't find it again. The others are all rewards from the DLC campaign.

Instant action does work as advertised, though it is not a highlight for me. Buy it if you want it, I guess?

The new campaign lasted me about 6 hours for all 15 missions. The writing was not as impressive as other campaigns; I also noticed less polish in terms of how many typos there still are after two patches.

Speaking of patches, I had to go to Reddit and figure out how to complete the first mission of the new DLC campaign. The 4th enemy mech would spawn underground, so I could not kill it. I had to get a mech with jump jets to fly over the mountain so the mechs would spawn elsewhere. I had to restart the mission several times for the enemy mechs to spawn properly so I could complete the first mission. I was not impressed, and I hope this gets patched soon.

I was also not impressed by the lack of other campaign content. Outside of the campaign, you get a Longbow Mech, which had to be buffed because it is so lackluster. The Stalker is still better overall, in my opinion. There is a lack of other outside DLC campaigns and missions I would have liked to have seen. At this price, I expect more and am sorely disappointed.

Overall, I give this DLC a 6/10. Buy it if you really want the wonderfully crafted Otomo mechs, instant action or just love the Longbow. There is very little content outside the campaign, which, as of writing, still has bugs that soft-lock your progress. Otherwise, wait for a sale.

I hope that if we get a sixth DLC, it adds more content rather than just one mech and a short campaign.

Better than RE3 Remake.

This DLC is okay. I still find the new Ada's voice acting and character design underwhelming and a considerable step down from past games. I eagerly await modders to fix these transgressions. That said, the new DLC can be a good value if you do not mind.

The DLC itself can be longer than the criminally short RE3 Remake, which I still have not forgiven Capcom for yet. I am about halfway through now. That being said, some people have beaten this DLC in 4 hours. I have not had any bugs and have enjoyed the new grappling hook mechanic. Using it on enemies is definitely unique and adds some depth that was not there before.

Otherwise, it is essentially the same if you had played Separate Ways before, just with the excellent RE4 Remake quality. If you have not played it before, this will plug several plot holes I won't spoil for you. Buy it if it appeals to you.

I give this DLC 7.5/10. It is a tad expensive for it's length, but I want to support the developers. I also think that since Separate Ways was included in the original game, those of us who bought the deluxe edition should at least get a discount. Get it on sale if it doesn't appeal to you price-wise.

Shadows of Change is a disappointment from top to bottom. Whether it is the price increase to that of a fully fleshed out race pack for only a few new units and a few legendary lords, the numerous bugs both unfixed and newly introduced, or the tone-deaf statement from CA that says 'buy it, or we will pull support', it is hard to find many things redeeming about this DLC.

You can tell the changeling was the lord that received the most care and attention. As detailed later, many of Cathay's reworked mechanics are either lackluster or do not work as intended. As a lord, Yuan Bo also has several issues denoted in the bugs section.

Kislev is missing Ungol units and replaced them with units that, in lore, have no connection to Kislev. Furthermore, we have no lore of hags as a magic type or hag lord, so your armies are being led by Boyars instead of the proper lord. Truly a missed opportunity, in my opinion. The Kislev rework is also very disappointing and does not deal with many of the underlying endemic issues that Kislev deals with as a faction. Why does the new lord start in Dark Elf territory? This is not explained either and is not loreful.

Several of the units in this 'premium' DLC also feel like pay-to-win. One of the big surprises from the DLC launch announcement is that CA has multiple playtesters. If CA does have an actual QA team, how come the bugs listed below is so extensive?

New maps don't work:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROM8NihNomQ&t=609s&ab_channel=LegendofTotalWar

Yuan Bo can't hit single entities and sometimes gets stuck in dragon form:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QxbKeAStow

The cockatrice had the attack move bug (CA has said this has been fixed many times with other units):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KdHzad5ij4&ab_channel=HumanBoyYesYes

The new battle AI has been lobotomized:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iE0BknWbeQ&t=1195s&ab_channel=OnePitchMan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIJe4If50F0

Rice paddy maps still lowering FPS despite being 'fixed'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLzgdaKKaTk

Kairos still has the old changing of the ways on his skill line, Beastmen red line skills do not enhance their new units. The new war drum unit also has issues with its animations. I could go on.

These are just the bugs we know about right now. Who knows what else we will find?

All in all, this DLC is a disappointment. I have bought every DLC and game up to this point, CA, and I will not be purchasing any more DLCs, games or other products from you further.

What TWW3 needs is a custodian team to give regular, meaningful fixes to the game in between DLCs and proper funding to the development team so that the content matches the price. My opinion of the game is that it is stagnating and not getting better.

Even one of TWW3 greatest supporters is tired of your BS:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YduCOrbzHTA

CA, please listen to your community and do better; you are rapidly losing all the goodwill this community has given you all these years. I am predicting Pharaoh and especially Hyenas will not do well; please focus your attention on your one profitable product.
