Played around with all the settings to try and get the game to work, the FPS is simply too low. I can't even get past the opening scenes due to horrible slow down. It takes 5 seconds plus just for a window to fade in then it has to fade out!

Edit: If people think I'm being whiny about not getting 60 FPS, I don't care about 60 FPS. I was getting like 5-10 FPS. The opening scene talking about King Kercheisov (Spelling?) took 20 minutes to get through. I have one life, I'm not wasting it here....

The game itself is fantastic, so just go play the Playstion 2 version... Or heck, even the Nintendo DS version the without voice acting. That version is better than this one.

But on PC, the port is bad and they should feel bad. I had higher hopes since they said "It's not just a port!" in the Steam store. Seems like other people can run it just fine though, so... Buy at your own risk?

If the problems get fixed before I refund, I will change the review. (See edits)

Yet Another Edit: Thanks to gluemchen for linking me to the fix! If you're having similiar problems after messing with all the settings, try disabling Steam Beta? Worked for me! As far as changing the recommendation... I'm a little iffy, with as many bad ports being released lately, it's truly a shame that the company didn't take better care with testing..
I will change the review to Yes, because the game itself is truly a lot of fun and like I said previously, the game is fantastic! Give it a play if you love strategy rpgs. It has a charming little story and it is a lot of fun.

In short, this game is not worth over 20$.

The game almost feels incomplete to me due to how little content there is...

The menu system in this game is super frustrating and so backwards. They need to redesign the UI completely because it is absolute garbage. Atleast redesign it for the PC version, it's just straight up ported from the console and it doesn't work for PC.

The gameplay is generally fun, but there is a lot of balancing issues. Some monsters are just straight up better than others and some hunters are just straight up better than others.

Also lots of bugs.. Only 5- hours into the game and encountered plenty of bugs and glitches.

It's fun, but not worth over 20$. There's too little content for the normal price. I could not imagine paying the 60+ they wanted.
