I really wanted to like this game. I was a kickstarter backer and didn't play immediately on release to give some time for bugfixes, but it wasn't enough.

Some notes, first: VR adds nothing to the experience, except maybe motion sickness and difficulty in taking notes. I stuck to ye olde flat screen. Also, it *really* wants to be played with controller. The KBM controls were just awkward.

My criticisms mostly revolve around the puzzles that aren't fun to solve, and the general glitchiness of them. In my 5 hours of play, I had to look up 4 different puzzles to see if I had glitched it or if I was missing something. 2 of those ended up being glitches, one of which required me to load a save a while back. I decided that I wasn't having enough fun playing the "glitch-or-not" game and stopped.

I really wanted to like it :(

Not an easy or simple game, but definitely fun. Warning: may cause purchase of many expensive peripherals.

Early Access Review
This game has no business being as compelling as it is. It looks like - and really is - just Canada Simulator 2015. Bloody cold, evil wildlife, and not another human soul to be found. It's a game about resource management, risk management, and man vs. nature. It's about struggling to survive just one more day. And I suppose it's also about dying when you misjudge the weather and a blizzard traps you outside or get too friendly with a hungry wolf.

This is one of the few Early Access games that I recommend. It's stable, largely bug-free experience, and it feels largely complete in terms of Sandbox "don't starve" type gameplay.

Decapitations haven't been this much fun since the French Revolution!
