Surprisingly decent Fall Guys clone. I bought Fall Guys on day 1 for full price, and enjoyed playing it on Linux until they added EasyAntiCheat, after which the game would not launch. Even now that EAC is supported through Proton, Fall Guys will launch but I have EAC related error messages. I contacted support and they only offered useless Windows workarounds while stating that the game isn't supported on Linux. Pain in the ass, hours wasted on troubleshooting. Then along comes Stumble Guys to save the day! It runs on Linux no problem. The gameplay is solid, perhaps a little bit too basic -- you can move, and jump, and if you tap jump again in the air you dive forward. There is no grabbing ledges and players like in Fall Guys, for better or worse. The audio is pretty awful -- the music is annoying and repetitive, and doesn't even loop properly, I muted it within ten minutes of playing. This exposes the very sparse sound effects -- no footsteps, all you can hear is your own jump and cannons firing. That's the worst of it though, otherwise the gameplay is enjoyable.

I had a blast playing the Mount and Blade Napoleonic Wars expansion a few years ago. Holdfast is pretty much the same game with better graphics, more players, generally just improved across the board. I've only played three hours so far but I already know I'll be enjoying this for hundreds or thousands of hours to come. Be warned that some players abuse the proximity voice chat, but it's easy to mute them. I'm running the game on Linux with no issues at all.

I initially left a negative review because I was annoyed that this was an Epic exclusive for one year, and now that it's finally on Steam, it was not possible to play the game on Linux and Steam Deck, as the Easy Anti Cheat client needed to be updated. I'm happy to report that it currently functions on Linux and Steam Deck using GE-Proton7-43 and the launch option:

eval $(echo "%command%" | sed 's/Chivalry2Launcher.exe/TBL/Binaries/Win64/Chivalry2-Win64-Shipping.exe/')

On Steam Deck, it defaults to very low graphics and reduced resolution scale, seems to run fine on Medium settings at least.

It's a fun game, I still prefer Mordhau overall but it's nice to have some variety. I hope they can fix the crossplatform parties soon so I can play with my sister who only has Xbox.

The most immersive and meticulously crafted game I've ever played, I just wish I had played it sooner. Stunning.
