The game on release was a bit rocky but the gameplay had always been strong. With the new class update it adds some nice diversity and build management. Fatshark continues to update and upgrade the game so I look forward to seeing what they do in the future. If you like games like Left4Dead and Warhammer 40k there is plenty to enjoy with this title.

A really great game has lots of depth and is challenging, pretty grindy but some people are into that. Has a HUGE problem if you plan to play on official servers. I'd wait for bug fixes to be released before playing on official servers. If you plan to play on your own servers or unofficial ones you'll prob find fun in it and be able to fix bugs with admin commands and cheats.

As for official servers.

1) hopping from server to server can result in you losing ALL progress on your character. This can be brutal because of how long it takes to level up.

2) Transferring dinos across servers can also result in you losing dinosaurs.

Some people may never experience this however if you play long enough in its current state. YOU WILL have it happen at some point. You WILL lose hours and hours of time taming/imprinting and/or character progress at some point.

Stay away until you find out these bugs are fixed if you plan to play on official servers. Otherwise I'm sure you'll find it entertaining on private or unoffical servers that have active admins.

It's FTP. D'load it and try it.

If you like Marvel and Like Diablo. This game has everything you need.

It fits perfect into this. If you enjoy art that allows you to interact with it. This is the game for you. The art is exactly like they promised out of an old sci-fi book cover.

The most enjoyable thing about this game is wandering around looking for new things to see, no matter how small or large that thing might be. Don't pick the game up for story-line, progression, or anything else. It's all about what might be around the next corner or on the next planet.

- Updated for Beyond and other expansions -

All the above still holds true however with all the previous updates including Beyond. There have been many additions that help you explore and enjoy the environment you roam around in.

Multiplayer is now included and its fun to build and goof around with friends but its hard to find a "typical" group activity or "quest" to do that actually requires multiple people to complete.

After every major update they have growing pains but have always worked them out quickly after the release drops. I would avoid letting those reviews affect your decisions for purchasing. Instead maybe wait till the release has time to mature if you don't want to deal with the initial spurt of bugs.

This is a great game. I love the engine for combat as well as for rendering.
If you like games like Baldurs Gate, Dragon Age etc. just buy this game and stop thinking so much about it.

The only complaint I have. You can't duel wield in this game. (Devs Please Add soon!)

The character customization for skills more then makes up for it. You can make any kind of interesting class you can think of. Looking forward to seeing more content and what kind of quests the modders can come up with.

Chivalry stands out with it's unique combat mechanics. You are able to conrol both arms independantly be it blocking or swinging. This creates a satisfying system that promotes skilled play but also leaves itself open to the rampant chaotic swings of a new player.

So grab your sword and gather TO ME!
