Early Access Review
It's incredibly frustrating that this game has so many positive reviews, especially given its current state. A year has passed, and the only notable additions are the ability to enter a downed state and a few extra items. That's hardly progress.

Where is the new content? Despite the announced public release date (October 28th), no meaningful updates have been made available to the public, only beta testers have access. Promises of substantial updates, like three new maps every two months, were quietly scrapped. It seems the only response to criticism, including my repeated concerns raised on your Discord, was to walk back on those promises AFTER people had already purchased the game.

To make matters worse, the game is deliberately designed to extend the playtime just beyond two hours, the minimum threshold for Steam refunds. This feels like a calculated and manipulative move to lock players into their purchase before they realize how little content there is.

The developer and founder, Blake Thomas, proudly claims to have bootstrapped his studio, Triiodide, to $10M+ in annual revenue in just three years. With resources like that, the lack of meaningful content updates over the past year is baffling. If creating lasting memories through multiplayer gameplay is the mission, where is the effort to deliver on that promise?

It feels like a blatant attempt to mislead players into sinking money and time into a game that delivers little in return, while boasting financial success.

Congratulations on the broken promises, lack of meaningful progress, and manipulative tactics. This isn't how you treat a player base.

Battlefield 2042, A Phoenix Rising from the Ashes

Introduction:
Battlefield 2042 had a rocky start, to say the least. With performance issues, game-breaking bugs, and a community that was losing faith, it seemed like this installment was destined for the gaming graveyard. However, after months of tireless work and a free weekend that showcased the fruits of their labor, it's time to give Battlefield 2042 another look.

Graphics and Visuals:
Battlefield 2042 has always been praised for its stunning visuals, and it's clear that the developers have continued to refine this aspect of the game. From the breathtaking landscapes to the intricate details on weapons and character models, the graphics are truly immersive. The improved performance now allows players to fully appreciate these visuals without the constant frustration of frame drops and stuttering.

Gameplay and Mechanics:
The most significant improvements in Battlefield 2042 are in the gameplay and mechanics department. With a vast array of bug fixes and performance enhancements, the game now runs smoothly, allowing players to experience the epic battles they've come to expect from the franchise. The gunplay feels tight and responsive, and the vehicle combat is thrilling and satisfying. The game's class system and customization options provide a depth that caters to various playstyles, making each match feel fresh and engaging.

Maps and Game Modes:
One of Battlefield's strengths has always been its massive, dynamic maps, and 2042 delivers in spades. The maps are diverse and thoughtfully designed, allowing for exciting engagements and strategic play. The weather system adds an additional layer of immersion, with dynamic storms and environmental hazards that can alter the tide of battle. The game modes offer something for everyone, from the classic Conquest and Breakthrough modes to the new Hazard Zone and Portal, where players can create and share custom game modes.

Community and Developer Interaction:
It's no secret that the relationship between the Battlefield 2042 community and the developers had reached a breaking point. However, with the recent improvements, it seems that the tide is changing. The developers have shown that they are committed to making the game better, and it is crucial for the community to come together and provide constructive feedback to continue fostering a positive environment for the game's growth.

Conclusion:
Battlefield 2042 has come a long way since its tumultuous release. With the performance issues and bugs largely addressed, players can now dive into the thrilling and immersive world that the franchise is known for. If you were hesitant to give Battlefield 2042 a chance due to its rocky start, now is the perfect time to reconsider. This phoenix has risen from the ashes, and it's ready to soar.

Sons of the Forest is a sequel to the popular survival horror game, The Forest, and was released on February 23, 2023, via early access for Microsoft Windows. While the game has received some positive feedback from players, there have also been some concerns raised about certain aspects of the game.

I was not satisfied with the game's exploration mechanics, as i found the caves to be nearly empty and containing items that i simply did not need.

I was also insanely disappointed with the game's AI, as it felt that the monsters ran around in a chaotic manner, making them easy to defeat.

Overall, Sons of the Forest is still in early access, and it is expected that the developers will continue to improve the game based on feedback from players. While there may be some concerns about certain aspects of the game, there is still potential for Sons of the Forest to be a compelling and engaging survival horror experience.

But in all honesty, this game at its current state is nowhere close to being as good as the original The Forest was.

I'm happy that they did not call it The Forest 2, as it would have been simply disrespectful.

What a horrible game; I'd rather read the story than playing it.

This was intended to be a console game but was ported to pc.

It is locked to 60fps while being a UE5 game, meaning I'd have to modify files to push out the much-needed frames.

Controls are so weird? Like he's sliding instead of walking.

Combat is terrible; press left click a few times, throw in a parry or two, suck up, and use your abilities.

No thanks, I'll try something else.

game is not worth it if you don't have any friends to play with.

it's so insanely quiet and boring solo, and animals just detect you even when you're hidden.
