man, this game came out so good.
can totally recommend the story mode even if you're not into fighting games completely

Not very happy with what i played.
played more than half of the challenges just to make sure i didnt like how it plays rn

-Physics are very wonky, as you can get stuck on very small things or the edges of the tracks. (i get its early but it happened way too often,even cpus would get stuck on stones and pillars)
-Dont really get the Life System, nothing happens to you if you get hit a few times but once life is down everything stops you even while healing. much rather the get hit you spin out instead of shrugging off hits then everything can and will stop you. also the healing item heals very slow and only a tiny bit, so its pointless to use it while low on health and getting shot with the machine gun
-Speed was nice, ive played CTR/NF for more than 500 hrs so i know how going ultra fast looks like, problem is that drift boosts seems to barely give you a sense of speed, saw many cpus just catch up or pass me without drifting when i was at 130%, but that could also be a problem with rubber banding as i would overtake 2nd place cpu (on Speed Freak difficulty) then they would overtake me all of a sudden a second later. had to learn how to stay on constant 150% on a track and i still wouldnt reach 2nd place
-Drifting felt better than driving normally, when i would do a normal turn it felt like when you have Auto Turn/Turn Help on MK8, your kart just moved wayy too much to the sides as if there was a helping mechanic going on or had perfect handling. only thing i could do was to constantly drift so i would actually have more control of where i wanted to go.
-The tracks are so narrow, after an hour i barely got used to the tracks but would still get stuck against the walls cause i would barely have any space to drift even when doing them correctly i would barely be able to do them perfectly but i think this game would benefit from wider turns.

now that that's out of the way,
-the whole Presentation of the game is really good, characters seem neat and the voice cast seems fitting, may not have many voice lines but they have enough for it to be not tiring after a race.
-Advertising the upcoming content for full release was perfect. perfectly aware now that its gonna have a lot to do offline
-definitely has a lot of similarities with CTR, for the really high jumps, very high speeds, emphasis on drifting as much as possible and weird cartoony items
-loved all the track themes, full of unique stuff to see everywhere and item placement in track are appropriate for the theme. didnt seem like assets from other themes were mixed with eachother

i really wanna keep playing this because i like some parts of the driving gameplay, has style and upcoming content but it has a few problems that i cant ignore

buncha whinning kids steambombed the reviews, game still hype to watch for sure

best enjoyed when going in completely blind

very fun shooter that becomes difficult more time passes
graphics are very charming overall, loved the pixel art
and the upgrade system is interesting, dont see that kinda puzzle grid upgrade often now, liked it.

okay....im still surprised this is so good

its like they took the gameplay of the original RE(exploration, ammo management and the shooting) and made it an fps.

if this had much more frequent content drops that arent mini Battle Passes and Store items i would recommend as the game itself is inmensely fun....too bad we just have just a few maps, no new content at all till S2, stuff getting delayed, many things missing from past games and just 343 being incompetent at doing a "Live Service" game

im still having so much fun on multiplayer and will keep playing, but i just cant recommend in the state it is right now
