I was a huge fan of the first game, I have owned it on at least 3 consoles, and so far this is perfect sequel. Are there a few little quibbles about a new game start button and whatnot, I had to restart my game as I didn't like a couple things about my character I ported from the demo, it took less than 5 minutes to delete the save and restart.

The freak out over micro transactions is insane, they had them 12 years ago in the first game and pretty much every single other game I've played in the last decade. It's super easy not to buy them! Every item is in the game for very little or no in game currency and they give you no real advantage. Performance might be a valid complaint for some, but I've had no issues on my PC on max settings, getting 60 fps most of the time.

Combat and exploration are real highlights, the limited fast travel really gives you the feeling of leaving the cities for an expedition. The addition of camping is great, and crafting is useful. The writing is perfectly inscrutable and weird, they really managed to keep the feel of the first game, but with really beautiful graphics. The world is huge, I think the first world's map is about a 1/4-1/3rd the size of this one, and it's really fun to explore, as someone who put hundreds of hours into Elden Ring I feel like this world is just more fun to just explore around in.

Pawns are more useful and have more personality, yet they're still weird af. Gratuitous use of the word "Methinks" will change my life. Loving it so far and sick of the negativity.

This is such a monumental achievement, there's not much I can say that hasn't already been said, but this game has made me feel things I haven't felt about video games in years. Incredible acting and well written characters, good for numerous playthroughs, I'm about 400 hours in and not even close to being sick of it.
