Overall a decent game

The puzzles either line up nicely, or require a key item that doesn't seem to have much related to the puzzle at all.

Action point system works out alright outside of combat, sometimes forces combat between turns which would be nice if the combat didn't get repetitive at times.
Some reviews say the combat is difficult, it's not it just drags out the turns longer because you're spending at least 1/3 of the time healing with Heal Tank Sally and the other turns guarding for more AP

Which also doesn't help when the AP after the battle is set to what you ended the battle with, so you may not be able to do much before you next end your turn, in turn potentially starting another battle (use adrenaline to avoid this).

Story is alright, but lacks a satisfactory ending

still a decent game for it's drawbacks

Like a longer version of the other masterpieces. Great game overall. Short, and easy achievements.

The one problem that really brings it down are the multiple endings, the endings aren't bad, just how you get to them. The process to get to these endings is nonsensical and tiresome, with bouts of repetition. And when you're finally able to achieve each ending, you have to repeat the ending sequence puzzle several times. Use a guide/tutorial for the endings, and put on a video while you do this because the ending chapter is boring the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time you do it.

The animations are fine and provide information of what actions achieved what, but when you've seen the animations of things moving in the ending sequence 3/4 times, you really don't need the heads up, if only there was a playback speed option!

I'd give this neutral if I could.
It's good, kid-friendly fun, difficult in very brief moments (but once you figure it out it's pretty easy again)- and that's about it.

For the simplicity, style and length of this game- I feel it's key focuses should be on ART, STORY and GAMEPLAY

Gameplay 6.5/10

It's fun, and basic, and for the length of the game, it is good enough.

I would say that's all there is for that, it's some running, jumping, grappling. You gradually get all the upgrades in probably the first hour or so, which is fine. But the game starts to play with your limitations (like increasing how many times you can grapple by hitting crystals) or by de-activating a power ( your rocket boots get damaged at one point ), but the introduction of these seem really just thrown in at the end to increase the challenge for like... 10 minutes overall in the last half hour? But- it's a short game- keep this in mind.

Art 6/10

The art style is quite lovely, each act/chapter has a different style, though it kind of seems like they had a 5 minute brainstorming session of "what kind of themes should we do?" and picked 3.
and the character modelling is a bit unique but stylised, it fits the rest well.

The voice acting is really meh for the most part, the voice for Maddie is pretty good but every other voice is just one step from being read from the script in front of them, but I feel that this could be due to a small team and a lot of non-English speakers perhaps.

Animation in some places is hit and miss.

Story 3/10

The story is definitely kid friendly/kid-oriented, and a bit... cheap - very basic and sort of goes nowhere, and when you think it's going to, it still doesn't. Story goes as such... Narrator is main character/you telling a story of when you were younger, blahblahblah eccentric scientist uncle missing, strange suit, teleporter, teleporter takes you to strange place and then gotta find uncle! frog people, crystals make suit good, go here, go there, 2 hours pass and finally you Found uncle! Uncle says "I'mma stay here, you go", use his one-way makeshift portal, end game . I know that spoiler covered story is a bit short, but that last bit really is how the last bit goes more or less. No development, no closure. It's short, but there's no end really, which is a great shame.

Like I said, I'd give it neutral, I feel where it lacks, there's good enough reason.
Is it worth £11.39, probably not, but small dev teams gotta eat so you do you... pretty sure I got it from a Humble Bundle or something idk

Where it's really lacking is it just seems like there were lots of ideas that maybe if they were fleshed out it would make the game so much better- but this is a student made game essentially so it's kind of fair enough.

I definitely didn't feel the need afterward to finish the achievements.

played during free week

Highly enjoyable, quite simple, fun and difficult.
The difficulty ramps up quite slowly and nicely
Decent replayability but I think the lack of content can potentially make this game run out of steam for many, your mileage may vary.

played on Oculus Rift S
Brilliant game filled to the brim with little gags and thematic references to the old spy movies. Even the opening credits are fun.

Many different ways to complete each level, with lots of souvenirs to collect by finding and doing little things.
Somewhat short, so may be not worth the £19 price tag to some, but tbh it's so very enjoyable even if it is short so I'd say it maybe is worth it.

Performance: Probably the only game I've played and had a good and consistent performance experience on, running a nvidia 970 and it's running ez pz unlike many other games

The only downside to this game that I feel brings it down a bit is some objects you can just brush past and it kills you. Accidentally knock that switch next to you without pressing anything? dead. Except for when you want to press the button or something and it doesn't register it because you were just slightly off.
It's a bit finnicky in that way, it doesn't happen too often and with the length of the game it's easy to let it slide- I'm not saying it ruins it, but can be frustrating.

Overall, good game if you like little puzzles/escape rooms

You will die, it's not an expectation, it's a promise.

Careful reading the reviews for spoilers. I'll try not to spoil anything in this review.

A great game, fantastic experience. Sort of a little anthology which all ties together with little hints sprinkled about.
While being a single player game, I personally played with a partner and this made it quite a bit more memorable due to it being such a fun and clever game and will be an experience I will remember.

Atmosphere - The game is so atmosphere rich, it's left a hole leaving me to search for another game like it.
Each section is beautifully constructed. It is a horror, but somewhat PG, a bit spooky here and there but I would say you could likely play with a 10 y/o

Puzzle - It's not overly hard, and each answer and solution will come to you eventually if you struggle with puzzles generally.

Time/Length - I've found that many atmospheric puzzle games are either long and end up boring or are short and oh-so-sweet. Took me about 6 hours with a partner so give or take an hour or 2 you'll find this game isn't super long.

TL;DR If you want a quick atmospheric unique puzzle experience, this is it. It will leave you wanting more.

Played in VR only so far

Whilst a little bit buggy- probably due to my PC limitations, it's honestly a heart pumping and thrilling experience, all while having the ability to have a calming ambience at times making you investigate and explore areas before you inevitably getting bumrushed by Okkar forces to end up running for your life. While having spent 11hrs~ at time of writing, I feel like I've not scratched the surface of a lot of the available content.

I'm predicting it might get a bit grindy at some point but I'm not so sure of that yet, it feels like there's progression even though at the same time there isn't due to the rogue-lite structuring.

We'll see though- might update eventually

(Bought for -50% @ £11.89 so take this into consideration)

Art style is good, gameplay is ok.
No story :(

I'm sure as a multiplayer game it's an interesting play, but there's a lot of fleshing out missing. It has a lot of different economy focuses which are hard to handle straight off the bat, but it's very limited and if anything it slows you down.

You can't really come barreling out the gate if you know what you're doing, it's a slow plod but eventually you get to a decent economy (about mid-game) then depending on your clan and map generation it's more or less impossible to expand past a certain point because even if your economy is steaming ahead you are limited by other factors.

Great base RTS game if you've never played something like Age Of Empires 2 or Warcraft, maybe use it to teach someone new to the RTS genre
