If you loved AoE2 and are looking for a new strategy game with similar gameplay, this is the game for you!

I threw off my headset and looked at the wall next to me in real life because an enemy shouted from the room next to me in game.

Get this (RCT2), get OpenRCT2 (free), optionally get RCT1.
OpenRCT2 is in constant development, works amazingly well with optimisations for modern machines. Plus open-source content available (haven't looked into that yet).
For the best experience: Do NOT buy the classic edition. The above combination is more complete, has more possibilities and is cheaper.

Amazing versatile city builder. The continued support and active community combined with steam workshop makes this game a limitless city scaping platfom.

Would leave a recommended for Rockstar's awesomeness, but Take-Two messed it up by ditching the community.
