Alt tabbed out of the game once, now it crashes every time I try to open it. Even after a re install. This was purchased AFTER the port was supposedly fixed btw.

A great spiritual successor that modernizes the best features of JSR and JSRF. Its graffiti system offers more complexity, like JSR, while also allowing you to have ALL graffiti available to you! Its trick system requires more skill than JSRF, while also offering you the same speeds.

The music and character design are both great and the story is not too corny, though I wish other gangs had more presence. They essentially disappear from the game after you conquer their borough.

Early Access Review
Great port of a great game.

The mulligan feature and turn end shortcuts do a great job to streamline gameplay, and the voice acting is great.

Let's just hope the rest of Dept. Heaven gets ported.

Finally off the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ microsoft store! Great sequel to the first MMO and great starting point to people new to the series. Fun combat, and lots of accessorizing to do. You can even be a robot, or black! The series is centered around photonic abilities, which are essentially individual moves for weapons; and techniques, which are like spells. combining these in creative ways lets you bend the enemies to your own whims and you can freely change classes whenever you feel like it. But play bouncer/hunter.

Kill la Kill is one of my favorite animes, and is now one of my favorite anime fighting games. It has a stronger foundation than most arena fighter/spectacle fighters(looking at you Bandai) with a more free-flowing combo system. Instead of a collection of XXX and the YYY combos, you have individual moves which can be used at anytime during a combo route. This is especially useful against blocking enemies as you can cancel into guard break moves.

Thanks to Arcsys's new animation style, the characters are very faithfully represented, just like in Guilty Gear and DBFZ. They've even recreated a lot of the adobe flash effects used in the anime from the color streaks and the model sliding. A lot of the signature moves of the main cast have a fun twist on them thanks to this game's range based combat, transforming a lot of sword swings into energy waves.

I will say one of the few negatives I view from this game, the cast is quite small, featuring the Elite Four, 2 Ryuko's, 2 Satsuki's, Mako and the Dotonbori Robo, I feel like more characters could've and should be added. Though this fault was inevitable due to the show's own low roster of fighters, maybe arcsys and trigger could've designed OCs for the game or something.

Another issue with this game is its odd handling of graphics settings, for some reason fullscreen is broken on setups with two monitors, so windowed mode should pretty much be used in favor of it. And once again, another anime game where the graphics settings can only be changed in the launcher. The game also has performance hiccups in it's crowd battles in story mode, I even faced a few straight up crashes on the second Ragyo battle.

Overall I recommend for those who have someone to play with, though my opinion may change upon finishing story mode
