Step 1: Build a toxic waste dump.
Step 2: Build an office dedicated to spreading propaganda about the benefits of toxic waste dumps.
Step 3: Harvest organs.
Step 4: Profit.

It's a roguelite city builder with a dark sense of humor. Can't wait for the full version.

No budget, no points, no tornadoes, no day/night cycle, no Sims or NPCs in sight (unless you count pigeons). I could go on all day about what this game isn't, so I'll tell you what it is: Mighty Morphin' Power Legos. Choose your color, position the sun in the sky, and build. Just build. And build. And before you know it, an hour has passed and you find yourself saying; "Just one more island," "Just one more house." And then that house becomes a castle, and that castle becomes a towering fortress.

Pid introduces a fun mechanic of antigravity beams to the platformer genre, and even if the story is a little obtuse, it's a stunning game that is a lot of fun to navigate. Until you reach an obstacle. And die. Over and over until you figure it out just at the moment you're about to punch a hole through your screen and strangle your neighbor's cat. There are plenty of discoverables to challenge you, but the last thing this game needed was a bigger challenge. Not that it's hard — the solutions are right in front of you, they're just barely capable of being executed.

In the end, I look forward to what Might and Delight will come up with in the future. Although, I think I’d be more excited to see them switch gears and produce an animated children’s TV series. The visual and sound design, the soundtrack, and the cast of characters was what made this game top notch, not necessarily the gameplay.

Obviously — in its beta stages — Mini Metro is a work in progress by a hardworking, dedicated young company genuinely listening to the consumer. But I'm pleased beyond recognition to be part of its maturation. The concept is simple: Keep on top of a rapidly expanding metro system in a wide variety of maps (with more maps on the way) by drawing your own "map". As new stations pop up, extend lines, reroute lines, add trains and carriages to existing lines, or pause the simulation, delete the whole thing and start fresh. Each game is different, and each time you learn a little more to add to your burgeoning strategies.

My only fault is that the better you get and the longer the game goes, the tedium seeps in. But that's certainly no reason to choose a different map and see what new adventures await on that ever-so-tantalizing blank map.
