FFVII was my favorite game, this just feels like a generic fighter game. The challenge isn't customizing a strategy or getting your team/tactics right, configuring your materia. No instead you've got the much more fun challenge of running behind the boss where his weak spot is, hiding behind walls when they do their predictable dance.

The controls on keyboard feels like you're playing remember the excel shortcut. "Oh yeah M for go back that's right.. Uhh G for lock on.. E to go into term mode. Now press left, now move your mouse. I can touch type but I can't play this game without looking at the keyboard and moving my hands between three different places.

The characters say much more, and are way more detailed, yet they have a fraction of the soul. They repeat cliche quips after every movement, reinforcing their 1D "personalities" to each other, instead of trying to behave like real people or letting you fill in the blanks.

Trying to think of something good to say .. the graphics I guess? I'll still listen to the FF7 midis sometimes but I'd never listen to this. The mako reactor music in midi format vs this remastered bland regurgitation is a perfect example of how a larger team and more resources is just no substitute for soul.

I actually rebought this after getting it on PS4 as I thought I've got to like this, it's FF7 remade and looks amazing, but it's just as bland as I remember. I just know once I get out of the reactor as Cloud strife they'll start having me search around the wall gardern city area to search for cats.. I just can't do it, it's ruining my good memories of this work.

Why are people so into this though?

Haven't played much of the campaign yet but the multiplayer is excellent, lots of fun and well balanced, no toxic crap.

It takes some effort to get into, and the game mechanic in career mode isn't perfectly balanced, but it's still one of the best games

It's not bad, but it's a ship simulator so don't expect excitement. It can drag down even the best machines with very detailed models, and the missions are often quite buggy e.g. not recognizing when an objective is achieved so you can go no further. That said it's not bad for what it is.

Really fun. Some of the humor fell a bit flat since it was all rehashed old jokes and bits of plots, but I guess that's what you're playing for. The gameplay was also good, though a bit easy. I thought the nazi zombie stuff was a bit lazy, and the final boss battle was anti-climactic, but for South Park fans this is definitely a decent game.

This was so boring, no idea why everyone is raving about this. You go around and collect things to make junk, and occasionally fight people. This would have been groundbreaking in 1994, or as an iPad game for $5. Some people might still enjoy this but probably not many. I bet if you look at how many hours people play this on average it would be pretty low.

And the people saying "wow this really makes me think about how hard war is, I really know what the holocaust was like now" get a grip.. In war you dont go around collecting things to make comfier couches and beds

Good but not great. Like BioShock 2 there's nothing here you haven't seen before, and I couldn't care about the storyline. The environment seemed limiting and small, and there were no good cutscenes or interesting parts.

Decent gameplay, but pretty underwhelming these days.

Awesome game, really hope they make more like this. I dropped out of Tomb Raider 3+, but they have really redone this wonderfully. Action sequences are fantastic, gameplay is great, graphics are fantastic (and on a not particularly powerful machine), all just good stuff. Online multiplayer and more DLC (as in more DLC in addition to the current content, rather than in place of it) would be a nice bonus, but there's not really much that you could improve on.
