And so you start your journey in Path of Exile. You look at the massively overwhelming passive tree and feel like running a mile. You'll either be blessed with awesome loot drops or cursed with crap all because RNG. Your first character, or even second, will probably feel rubbish eg. too slow, too squishy, not enough damage etc and you'll most likely struggle with later game content because of said character. In a word, this game is rather overwhelming for a new player and it's important to note that it is not on the casual side when it comes to ARPGS like, for example, Torchlight II. If you're looking for a more relaxed ARPG that you don't need to invest a bit of time into then this game isn't for you.

However, if you can overcome some of those hurdles then you're in for a treat. As you start to learn the importance of different defences, capped resistances, allocating your passive skill points in a way that perfectly synergises with your skills and gear, skill gem setups, game mechanics and more, you'll start to end up with a rather satisfyingly strong character. You'll begin to understand about crafting, what all those currency orbs mean and vendor recipes (the Path of Exile wiki will be your bible!). And of course, the never-ending quest for amazing loot and GG items.

So, if you're looking for an Action RPG that has a lot of depth to it, that offers a ton of replayability, a game that you can grow and learn with, offers a plethora of builds that are only limited by your imagination and has a fantastic Free to Play model, then this game is for you.

RAGE sets you in a ravaged wasteland world that is home to mutants, bandits and the Authority which all want a piece of you or should I say, a nice chunk of you. The wasteland environment looks gorgeous both in the way it has been designed and the graphics itself which easily helps with emersion. There are perhaps a few iffy textures when it comes to some of the interior levels, but if you can look past that and enjoy the wasteland, it's easily cancelled out. The character models and weaponary also look fantastic.

Apart from the main story, the game offers some decent side missions, events and numerous amounts of things to collect. Schematics, recipies (these allow you to craft various things as long as you have parts), collectables, mini games, stunt jumps throughout the wasteland and of course, racing events where you can earn racing certificates to be used in upgrading your vehicles. There are also various ammo types you can use with your weapons.

There's a few co-op missions you can do with one friend or a random. They're fun, but unfortunately a little short. There's also multiplayer by way of racing, but as to be expected, the multiplayer portion has fizzled out.

The ending could be viewed as somewhat disappointing in the fact that it's left rather open and perhaps there could have been some stronger emphasis on the story, but all small negatives considered, the gameplay is solid, the graphics fantastic and there's plenty to keep you busy with for quite some hours. Having played three playthroughs of RAGE on Normal, Nightmare and Ultra Nightmare, I can say I thoroughly enjoyed the game each time.

The positives of this game are that I enjoyed the environment and the way it looks. The weapons especially looked very pretty. I particularly enjoyed the setting of the last chapter. Unfortunately, that's about as good as it got. From start to finish, the single player campaign is a whopping 4.5hrs. The weapons that are dotted around the environment are quite hard to spot. There's no subtle highlighting or anything. The only time I knew there was a weapon was because I happened to have walked over it, bringing up the option to switch to it.

It's quite linear in the way that it plays, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I didn't enjoy it in this game. The storyline is okay, but nothing compelling. The overall feeling of the gameplay just felt awkward. All in all, definitely not a game to purchase at full price and even discounted it, I'd be wary.

An appealing dark cyberpunk FPS game that plays more like an oldschool style of shooter. There's no cover system or regenerative health, no pressing E/F to pick up items (walking over them simply grabs them.) A no nonsense, no fuss game, yet it still offers a nice array of interesting weaponary to play with & upgrade using "NANO Currency" you collect.

The game is pretty full on in the way of lots of things that can be destroyed, but mostly the fact that it can get extremely chaotic very quickly. Making sure you move around while shooting is essential. Worth noting is there isn't any quick save option, instead you get spawned back to the last checkpoint. I found this a little frustrating, but in fairness checkpoints aren't too far apart.

Campaign mode takes more or less around 8 hours to finish, but it does offer achievements and a survival mode to add further hours of gameplay.

I enjoyed the game, but unlike some other games I think Hard might be too challenging for my taste.

A fun and different DLC compared to the other three when taking on the smaller/shorter challenges, however, the fun soon turns into pure frustration when tackling the three larger challenges. Enduring five waves to every round (there are 20 rounds to each large challenge) will have you tearing out your hair, wishing it would just end. Worse, you cannot quit and continue where you last was, dying sets you back a few rounds and this is best completed with other people because it gets rather hard. About 3-4 hours work in one go needs to go into completing one of the large challenge.

All in all, this could have been a fun and refreshing DLC, but I feel it's greatly ruined by all of the above. Coming from someone that was insane enough to finish the whole DLC, I personally don't recommend buying this.
