To be fair, Rick and Morty fans can call themselves smart, but I don't really care.

The thing is, despite them saying that they need "a high IQ to understand their show", I guarantee that they would all be dumbfounded when confronted by the true intellectual's show, LazyTown.
Rick and Morty fans think that their show is the most intelligent only due to the use of scientific terms and references, yet they miss the bigger picture - the one served to the true fans of LazyTown.
We'll come back to the bigger picture aspect later, though.

Firstly, let's discuss the histories of the franchises. LazyTown has a deep and detailed history in both the real and fictional worlds - In the real world, the production of LazyTown spans all the way back to the early 1990s with Magnús Scheving, an Icelandic man dedicated to his and others' physical fitness, starting up the LazyTown brand. At first, he wrote multiple works of literature to build a deep world and story into his upcoming live action plays which would teach (intelligent) children about not only about the benefits of physical health, but so much more... Later on, Magnús decided to continue the LazyTown universe by releasing four seasons, comprising of 79 episodes over a decade, continuing to build its flawless world.
And what does Rick and Morty have for a history? Three movies and seasons which have little story building, and instead just try to get a cheap thrill for the viewer?
Not very comprehensive...

Now to the bigger picture - the thing Rick and Morty lacks! You see, all nine active main characters (with over five retired ones!) serve a purpose in the show by being an extreme quality that every good person should strive to have, but not have too much of. These main qualities involve, but are not limited to:
Physical fitness, beauty, happiness, technological savviness, greed, intelligence, indulgence, troublemaking, support for others, and outside communication.
The only thing that Rick and Morty fans seem to think is important is sheer intelligence, but anyone with an IQ over that of an ape can see through that.
To be a simpleton that is low enough to think that Rick and Morty is advanced programming in any way, shape, or form is just pitiful.

They think that their humor is "extremely subtle", and that their comedy will simply "go over a typical viewer's head", yet I GUARANTEE that they can't understand 99% of the humor and references made in LazyTown - It's just too complex for their peanut-sized brains.
Then they go on about how their show displays theoretical physics all the time, yet little do they know, LAZYTOWN DOES EXACTLY THE SAME!
For example, in the second episode of the fourth season, the antagonist, Robbie Rotten, creates a time travel device capable of violating causality, letting him appear decades prior to his leaving so he can cause havoc without chance of being stopped. At the instance of leaving to the past, a large flash of light that can only be described as Cherenkov radiation is seen by the camera. All fans of the show know these topics in great detail, because not only do they consume and enjoy the program, but they also go out of the way to research these intriguing topics in great detail. And what do Rick and Morty fans do? They just sit on their couches while metaphorically turning off their brains while they watch what I would barely even consider a "show" anymore.

Okay, so you want an example of one of the references from the franchise that applies to the modern day world? Fine. Take the song that only the most intelligent of intellectuals listen to from Glanni Glæpur Í Latabæ - Dói Dós. Here, Glanni Glæpur (Robbie Rotten, for all of the non-intellectuals who need this explained to them) is trying to sell cans of a green, fabricated, low quality substance that shares many similarities to both non-newtonian fluids and gelatins. This substance is a supposed way that Glanni Glæpur can get the childen to eat unhealthfully, causing not only laziness and obesity, but mid-life problems such as diabetes and heart disease.
Though, the children (who share qualities with the fans of the series) are intellectuals and have knowledge that this substance can only cause health problems down the line. To those who need a little help due to their low IQs - if this hasn't already rang a bell, it is blatantly referencing the McDonalds franchise. McDonalds serves ground up, low quality meat scrap parts into their protein sources for their also horribly greasy and fattening selection of foods. These foods are served to uneducated simpletons who are being weeded out by natural selection as we speak.

Who else is being weeded out by natural selection as we speak? Rick and Morty fans. They are all just fat virgins living in their mothers' basements - They will more than likely never have offspring (which is a good thing if they watch their disgusting show). They will just die off slowly as they don't understand nutrition and eat only chicken tenders every day. If you watch LazyTown, though, you already know that you are an ALPHA MALE CHAD. There's really nothing else to explain past that point.

It is truly sad that people like those who watch Rick and Morty will never be able to fully appreciate the eternal masterpiece known as LazyTown.
The generation who has watched and continues to watch LazyTown are destined to become the next wave of Newtons, Einsteins, and Hawkings. Next major technological innovation that occurs?
72.6% likely that it will be made by a LazyTown fan. So until you look outside of your extremely narrow slice of "intelligence", persist in being the non-intellectual scum of the Earth that you are.
