Imagine trying to capture the lightning in a bottle that was Half Life 1 all over again. But you make it a Survival Game. And you think. No way, this is just a pipe dream.

It's not. I play it solo, and I'm having a ball with it. Playing it with friends? Would be mind blowing.

That's the best praise I can give a game, really. I'm enjoying a survival game. Solo.

It really is the feeling of exploring Black Mesa, without being Black Mesa. The bones are there. This is a love letter to that genre. And a completely fresh new take on the survival genre.

Support these folks, for sure.

Project Zomboid is hard to describe. First off, on the Developer side? Wonderful people. Open door policy, and their inner workings have windows without blinds. They are always letting us know what's going on. Not going on. Broken. Fixed. The communication is beautiful.

The game itself? Fun as balls with friends! And still pretty darn fun without them. My own personal experience has been 90% with friends on a dedicated server. With lots of mods. Have I mentioned mods? Oh buddy. The modding community is straight up blessed. So much so, that most of them end up working for the team! (Another showing of smart decision making on the devs part, IMO. Work WITH not against your modders people! They know things!)

Singleplayer? Mods, again. So you'll always have something to try. Or a neat bit of kit to look for. (I personally have the Stalker gear. Exosuit is just so neat to have. And useful, too.) I totally recommend the game. Full price, even!

Where do I start? I've played Hardspace: Shipbreaker for what definitely feels longer then 17 hours. And not because time dragged on, but because I just get so lost in it.

It's oddly relaxing to be going into the ship, looking for the connection points, and just piece by piece, tearing a plausible, actual space-craft apart. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty much just going through the motions, sure. But the motions are enjoyable!

Controls are as good as zero-g full 360 movement can get, I reckon. As well, the UI, and general gameplay translate so well that I never had an issue figuring out what I had to do. Mistakes were my own, for forgetting the 'manual' so to speak.

I highly, highly recommend this game. It's only going to get better. And we NEED more out of the box, different ideas, like this game.

So, four hours in. What do I feel about Bannerlord?

I love it. It's the tried, tested, true feeling of Warband, which I've been playing for YEARS. With a fresh coat.

That's literally all they needed to do. Copy, paste, make prettier. People would be happy. I mean, we played that broken, janky Warband game happily, for how long now?

Some things I disagree on, are needing to load into the town/3D mode to talk to people, as I find it slows things down. Sure, it's cool talking face to face. But pacing, yo!

Aside from that, while I agree there are a few more load screens this time around, I found that things loaded fast, though. Especially combat. I think it takes longer to load the discussion prior to the fight, than the battle itself sometimes.

Only one crash so far, and I blame my craptop more than the game, unless it happens a few more times in the same spot. We'll see.

So far, all in all, yeah. I recommend it. Just remember what mods did for Warband, and they're embracing it this time around to. Only good things to come.
