Some game mechanics (one item specifically) make you take double damage... duh. Timers (take x amount of damage after y amount of seconds) are bound to frames... duh. This means: higher FPS = faster ticking DOT's (heal or damage), lower FPS = slower ticking DOT's (heal or damage).
