A fun and relaxing simulator that I actually enjoyed in a while.

The game has everything you want in a truck simulation game : trucks, and a huge open world of part of Europe (not mentioning DLCs), plus a deep career management system and mod support.

The game is also a perfect way to relax. Just put in some lofi music on Spotify and try to drive at night while rain is pouring down your windshield.

Even if you don't like simulation-type games, I still suggest you to give it a shot.

An average, run-of-the-mill rail shooter. Nothing more, nothing less.

Story is silly but enjoyable if you like weird ♥♥♥♥ like me. An ordinary high school boy got accidentally shot by an angel's arrow and girls around him started to swarm him up like he has some AXE body spray all over his body. Now he has to choose a girl to make her his girlfriend to break the spell.

Gameplay is basic yet very straightforward. It's a rail shooter in the veins of TIme Crisis. You aim with your mouse and fire at horny high school girls. That's all there's to it.

Game has some replayability although a bit mediocre. You have different girls to choose from, each having different plot points and minigames. However, level structure is pretty much the same between each girls and the level design is terribly lacking in variety. Also, game is really easy to beat. It's basically a walk in the park compared to other rail shooters.

There is an extra "dressing room" mode in which you dress up the characters in the game but I don't wanna talk about it.

Also, game has mediocre optimization due to being a port, so you gotta play with config files to make the game look better.

If you wanna buy this game, I recommend buying it at a discount price.

im too lazy to write a full essay as usual, so here's a list of my own pros and cons of this game

- sluggish combat system
- clunky animations
- wtf with dis hit detection?
- useless rank progression
- seriously, only 4 classes?
- balance issues
- sub-par graphics (even on high settings)
- no asian servers (yes, i live in asia and i gotta tell you, playing in a US server w/ 200+ ping is hell.......IN A GAME ALL ABOUT REFLEXES)

in all seriousness, this game feels like an unfinished alpha. i expect the devs to put some AAA effort into it, but at the end of the day, it looks like a bizarre half life 2 mod made by 9 year olds

if you don't really care about all the cons and still want to buy this game, its your own call. for the others though, its not worth any of your damn money

You know, I loved the works of Suda51. They always have this bizarre and surreal storylines as well as exciting gameplay plus some unusual yet unique visuals. However, what about his another stylistic opus, Killer is Dead? Is it a hack n slash fan’s wet dream or just another irritating action experience?

Killer is Dead is another artistic effort made by the visionaire himself Suda51, along with his guys at Grasshopper Manufacture. It has some familiar elements from Suda’s previous titles, such as the gameplay of Lollipop Chainsaw mixed with the visual style of No More Heroes.

First, let’s talk about the story a bit, shall we? You enter the shoes of Mondo Zappa, an assassin-for-hire who works for an assassination firm who tasks Mondo to kill dangerous bad guys around the world. Along with him in missions are his beloved katana and his mechanical arm “Musselback”, who helps him when fighting enemies as well as his friends the cyborg Bryan, the hot chick Vivienne, and his sidekick and best girl Mika. The game lets you go through the missions of Mondo’s assassinations as well as his personal struggles and his childhood later on.

Out of all the stories that Suda51 has written for his games, KID has the most bizarre and nonsensical of them all. Not David Lynch’s Eraserhead type of bizarre, but really bizarre ♥♥♥♥ that makes people go “What the hell is going on?”. Most of the time the plot doesn’t make any sense and doesn’t correlate well with each episode. There are some characters that were introduced to the story with little to no explanation at all and certain events in the game just.........sorta happened for the sake of the story. Also (ehem, spoilers), the ending is bullsh*t

The gameplay is what you might expect from a Suda51 title. It’s the usual “You hack this, you slash that, you dodge this, you block that, plus press this to parry” style of gameplay. However, it doesn’t really add anything new to the table and just revising the old stuff that has been the thing in the hack n slash games over the years. Well, there’s a cool counter-attack system when you dodge an attack successfully and an easy-to-understand character upgrade system, but besides those things, gameplay is “meh” at best. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it could’ve been done much better.

Another thing that I kinda have mixed feelings with is the game’s soundtrack. I appreciate that the composer was trying to be diverse with its style of music in each episode, but cmon man, try harder than that. Most of the tracks are generic and forgettable. They don’t really get you in the mood of fighting the biggest, baddest villains of the game. Probably the only good thing about the whole soundtrack is that the jazz-themed loading screens are nice, so kudos to that.

The English voice acting in the game is okay (I guess???). Well, it kinda falls into the “generic anime English dub” territory a bit, but it wasn’t exactly the worst English voice acting I’ve heard from a Japanese-made video game. Just wished the whole cast could put more effort into it. However, if you really want the true KID experience, try playing with the Japanese dub on. It’s much more fitting and just fun to hear characters banter with each other in Japanese.

What the game really truly shines on is in its art direction. The cel-shaded visual style of KID does fit with its weird story and the settings, with each of them having a distinct tone and atmosphere. Characters are pretty diverse in the game, with each of them having a unique appearance and personality. Although I can say Mondo himself is one of those protags who is pretty much OP with little character development whatsoever.

At the end of the day, Killer is Dead is just your another ordinary hack n slash title. The story makes little sense whatsoever and the gameplay doesn’t really add anything new to the hack n slash formula. However, its striking visuals, diverse cast of characters and settings, and its overall creativity does made the game sort of different from other hack n slash titles. Still, I can’t really say that the game would be a killer among other well-known HnS games such as DmC or Bayonetta. However, its worth a try, so buy it if you ever have a chance.
